EastEnders spoilers: Vile Dean takes sick action over Linda’s rape leaving her destroyed
This article contains spoilers from Wednesday’s (November 22) episode of EastEnders which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
Since his return to Albert Square, vile rapist Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) has done nothing but torment Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) in EastEnders.
Dean tore Linda’s life apart when he raped her in 2014, but has since shown no signs of remorse. Quite the opposite, as he has made it clear in recent episodes that he genuinely doesn’t believe he did anything wrong.
In recent scenes, Dean was slapped by George Knight (Colin Salmon) after refusing to leave Linda alone, and ended up in hospital after falling down the stairs.
Since the confrontation, Dean has been threatening to go to the police, which would leave George facing prison time thanks to his suspended sentence.
However, Dean offered Linda one way out of saving George, which was to tell everyone that she had lied about Dean raping her.
George and Linda were both dead against the idea, with George promising to serve time instead of putting Linda through that, though mum Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) genuinely considered Dean’s proposal.
She told Linda that thy were just words, leaving Linda absolutely devastated to not have her mum’s backing. Determined to put a stop to things, Linda and George headed to the hospital, where Dean changed the terms of his agreement.
He told her that she didn’t have to tell all of her friends and family that she had lied, she just had to say it to him, but Linda stuck to her guns and refused.
Back at home, Linda listened as Gina and Anna (Francesca Henry and Molly Rainford) told Elaine about their visit to see Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) in an attempt to get her to side with George against Dean.
Unfortunately, Cindy’s plea to Dean to forget about what happened when unheard, as he remained determined to target Linda and George.
As Gina and Anna worried about what may happen to their dad, Linda was further distracted by son Ollie’s comments to George about how he wasn’t going to let him leave like his dad did.
With all of this going on, Linda made the heartbreaking decision to give Dean what he wanted, and headed over to Beale’s Eels to talk.
However, what Linda didn’t realise was that this was all part of Dean’s gameplan. As she followed his lead and told him exactly what he wanted her to say – that she had lied about being raped because she was scared that Mick would find out she had slept with Dean – she didn’t realise that Dean was recording everything she had said.
As Linda returned home and broke down to Elaine, who continued to assure her that she had done the right thing, Dean played her false confession.
What exactly does he plan to do with this recording, and how will Linda react if she finds out?
