EastEnders star Harriet Thorpe ‘rules out’ Christmas death victim in new interview
Did she accidentally let slip who's safe?
EastEnders star Harriet Thorpe may just have ‘ruled out’ one character from this year’s Christmas storyline death.
The actor, who plays Queen Vic landlady Elaine Peacock, could be part of this year’s explosive festive storyline which sees a body found in her pub.
A flash-forward scene in the soap showed “The Six” (Sharon Watts, Kathy Beale, Stacey Slater, Suki Panesar, Linda Carter, and Denise Fox) staring down at an as-yet-unknown male who’s dead on the floor.
Many soap fans have speculated who the corpse is — but it seems like Thorpe could potentially have accidentally ruled out one prime suspect in a new interview.

“It’s irritating if I find a body in my pub at Christmas,” told The Mirror. “Extremely irritating! Because I’ll have to clean up the mess. Get out the carpet cleaner! I’d get George to do it.”
That seemed to imply that George Knight, Elaine’s partner, can’t the body lying on the floor.
But when asked if that was the case or a simple slip of the tongue, Thorpe played coy and responded: “I don’t know. Not my story.” Could it be a slip or up just a red herring?
There’s been plenty of speculation since the flash forward scene aired. Fans have speculated that Dean Wicks could be the potential victim following his explosive return, as it was revealed he was Cindy Beale’s silent business partner.
And EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw further fuelled rumours about Dean, telling us here at Digital Spy: “Obviously, you’ve seen the episode where Dean returns and it’s Halloween, and he’s also revealed to be Cindy’s secret business partner and the new partner of Beale’s Eels.

“Cindy wasn’t quite aware of who she was getting into business with and she quickly realises the mistake she’s made but the contracts have been signed, so there’s no backing out now. It will probably therefore come as no surprise that Dean is a potential body at Christmas. He was always going to return at some stage this year.”
Fans reckon they’ve already ruled out Ravi Gulati as the character who will be killed at Christmas with his ex-girlfriend Priya and secret daughter Avani arriving in Walford.
But it’s important to remember that absolutely nothing been confirmed just yet.
Back in September, Suki actor Balvinder Sopal praised EastEnders‘ Christmas storyline and all the anticipation leading up to the festive season.
“The fact that EastEnders is matching Suki up with other members of the Walford community as part of ‘The Six’ is absolutely brilliant, and the fact they are all women is amazing,” she said. “It bumps up that sisterhood feeling, and it puts powerful women at the forefront of storytelling about connection, friendship and love.”
Sopal added: “I think it’s really important to see strong bonds between these women where they can support and help each other through difficult times.”
EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
