EastEnders Star Lashes Back At The Inaccurate Soap Credit
Little Mo will forever be a crucial and integral part of EastEnders. Even though she was part of the long-running BBC One soap only for a six year stretch between 2000-2006. Such was the impact of the hard-hitting storylines that centered around her. Especially the storyline where Graham raped her and left her pregnant with Freddie. Later, Maureen “Mo” Slater left Walford when her then husband Billy could not wrap his head around raising Freddie as his own son. The storyline was recently revisited when Freddie met his rapist father Graham, and then bashed up Theo to stop him from raping Stacey.
However, despite the popularity actress Kacey Ainsworth has enjoyed as Little Mo on EastEnders, it is not her only claim to fame. And that is something the fine actress is trying to be rather assertive about. In a seething X (formerly Twitter) post, Kacey dissed WhatsOnStage website for crediting her only as EastEnders actor. “This is why working class actresses can’t move on,” Kacey lashed out. Furthermore she pointed that she has appeared in at least 10 plays, five films, nine series of Grantchester, countless other TV and radio performances. Yet her “credit is still EastEnders,” she schooled the website.
After leaving EastEnders, the talented performer has gone on to do many popular projects on the screen. She has had her hands so full that she has had no time to consider returning to soaps. However, ever since the BBC One soap paid homage to her yesteryears’ storyline through Freddie, fans have been raving that now is perhaps the best time for Kacey to reprise her role as Little Mo. But will it really ever happen? The star spilled the beans in a recent chat!
“I’m a regular in an ITV series that’s now…we’re onto our seventh series of that,” Kacey told the Daily Star. Asserting that she doesn’t think there’s “room” for a soaps return at present. However, she did not completely reject the possibility either. After all what’s that popular saying about never saying never? “It’s nice to go back and do stuff like that, which I did earlier on in my career,” she added. Does that mean she might consider reprising Little Mo and share the screen with her on-screen son Freddie? We’ll have to wait and find out!
