EastEnders Star Shaun Williamson’s REAL Name Revealed, And It’s Unbelievable!!
EastEnders: There is no doubt that when an actor does a particular role relentlessly for years, it becomes their identity. It is especially true for the stars of a long running soap like EastEnders. It literally has been on for decades on BBC One. And every character is a household name for the soap’s fans. Something similar happened to the lovable Barry. Er – we mean Shaun. No wait – or is actually Barry?
Long term viewers will remember that actor Shaun Williamson used to Portray Barry Evans on EastEnders. The actor had started off with a mini role. But owing to the rave reviews the character received. The makers turned Barry into a series regular. However, unfortunately, his stint ended on the soap in 2004. He fell to his death, after his girlfriend Janine Butcher pushed him off the cliff.
Recently, former X-Factor star- Honey G revealed an interesting detail about the EastEnders alum that has delighted the long-term fans of the soap. As it turns out, Honey G is working with Shaun for Deliveroo’s Christmas campaign. She told the Daily Star that Shaun is a great guy and she loved working with him. However, the most interesting detail spilled when she shared that the actor claims the name “Barry” is on his passport.
Apparently, Barry happens to be the EastEnders star’s middle name in real life! Furthermore, Honey also shared that, “Some people call him Barry because of his character on EastEnders but he says he’s been called worse things.” We wonder why anyone would call him anything terrible. He really does seem so adorable. And the mere mention of his character name had brought back so many fond memories of an era gone by.
Previously, in a chat with the media, Shaun had admitted that he would like to swap his EastEnders fame for a new role on Emmerdale. After leaving his role on the soap, the actor has completely changed his career. Apart from doing sporadic acting stints on TV here and there, he has been doing Barrioke at festivals and on stages around the country. But we still wonder if funny Barry could somehow still find a way back to EastEnders ever? What do you say?
