EastEnders writer sparks fan meltdown by letting slip spoilers about explosive scenes
Soap fans have been reeling since Linda Carter killed Keanu Taylor in explosive scenes that aired on Christmas Day - but it seems the drama for The Six has only just begun
EastEnders fans are bracing themselves for even more drama as one of the show writers has teased new twists are coming up.
The long-running BBC soap has left fans shocked and on the edge of their seats since the Christmas Day episode revealed Linda Carter, played by Kellie Bright, 47, killed Keanu Taylor, played by 30-year-old Danny Walters, while trying to stop him strangling Sharon Watts, played by Letitia Dean, 56. Fellow Albert Square residents Denise Fox, played by Diane Parish, 54, Kathy Beale, played by Gillian Taylforth, 68, Stacey Slater, played by Lacey Turner, 35, and Suki Panesar, played by Balvinder Sopal, 45, were also implicated in the murder as they encouraged the criminal act – and then blundered their way through trying to cover it up.
The group of women, known to fans as The Six, are set to try to conceal the death of Keanu – while also framing him for bludgeoning Nish Panesar, played by Navin Chowdhry, 52, over the head with a champagne bottle. It was in fact Denise who struck Nish, knocking him out and leaving him in a grave condition, as she tried to protect Suki from him.
Fans were then left despairing as further crimes were committed by The Six as Denise lied to police, telling them she was Linda – and the group moved Keanu’s dead body to Kathy’s burned out cafe. But viewers may have seen nothing yet – as one of the show writers has promised there is plenty more scandal ahead

Taking to X/ Twitter on Wednesday, writer Daran Little teased the upcoming next two episodes. He told fans: “I’ve written the next two # EastEnders and The Six have a lot on their plates!!!”
His comments sparked a frenzy of excitement from soap fans, with one responding to write: “Nobody got to eat Xmas Dinner yet I know you aren’t talking about leftover turkey.” While many others expressed their hopes, fears and appreciation about the ongoing storyline.
One fan begged: “Please don’t put any of them in Prison pleeeeease.” Another wrote: “I’m struggling to keep up with their plan so can’t wait to see how they stick to it.” And another fan declared they were: “Lost for words … simply amazing and the best six ever.”
One fan, fearing for the future of Suki and her on-screen girlfriend Eve Unwin, played by 48-year-old Heather Peace, wrote: “I really hope EE haven’t made suki and eve collateral damage from this and we see a lesbian couple finally prevail!” And another gushed: “These Queens better get away with it. Linda would get the worst but she was saving her friend! Why is Kat still with Phil as if he would stick by her now. I am glad Dean didn’t die his daughter needs those lungs so die soon bro! So much to unravel it’s what EE us about.”
A further fan was glad to see Linda in the thick of the drama, commenting: “Great to see Linda get such a good storyline. She got a bit eclipsed when the Knights moved in.” Indeed, many fans have been praising actress Kellie for her scenes – and have been sharing their hope she will win soap awards for her work in the near future.
But there are also concerns that Linda will be jailed for the crime of killing Keanu – leaving Kellie out of work. In a behind-the-scenes special about the festive murder, Kellie said: “What’s gonna become of me? Murderers go to prison!” But co-star Leticia said: “Panto Kelly! Panto!”
