Gillian Wright gives Lorraine Stanley a touching gift as she leaves EastEnders for good
EastEnders actress Gillian Wright surprised co-star Lorraine Stanley with the most wholesome gift as she prepares to leave the soap.
It was announced earlier this year that the Karen Taylor star, 47, would be leaving the BBC soap, though how that will happen still remains to be seen.
Actress Lorraine, 47, has been active on social media in the last couple of days, responding to fan comments on the character and her current storyline.
However, she took the time to send a special shout-out to the Jean Slater star, 63.
Lorraine uploaded a picture of her winter attire complete with a wooly hat.
She penned: ‘I love my hat you made @therealgillianwright. It’s so warm and cosy and fits perfectly.’

When her exit from the show was announced, Lorraine took to social media to express her sadness at having to say goodbye.
‘Thank you to [writer] Daran Little for creating the Taylors and to the BBC for giving me the opportunity to play such a fabulous character,’ she said.
‘I’ll be sad to be saying goodbye to Karen Taylor and will miss all the cast and crew at EastEnders.
‘However I’m looking forward to my next chapter and excited about being a jobbing Actor again & starting new ventures.
‘Again your kind words of support have been amazing!!! I’m going to miss my Taylor/Baker famalam Clair Norris, Danny Walters, Roger Griffiths and Matthew Morrison. Much love.’
Her co-stars rushed to the comments to share their words of support, with Eve Unwin actress Heather Peace writing: ‘We will miss you very much. Here’s to new adventures lovely one.’
‘We will miss you very much,’ Jaden Ladega, who plays Denzel Danes, said.
Karen’s exit was confirmed earlier this year, with Metro.co.uk understanding that it was EastEnders’ decision to write the character out, with her final scenes set to air later this year.
