‘It’s been precious!’ Heather Peace shares emotional post as Eve leaves EastEnders

EastEnders star Heather Peace has reflected on Eve Unwin’s journey following the character’s on-screen exit.

Eve vowed to leave Walford never to return after Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) gave her a chance to live following Nish Panesar’s (Navin Chowdhry) attempt on her life.

Nish, as viewers know, discovered that Eve was having an affair with his wife Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) and proceeded to confront her about it before smacking her across the head with a bottle with alcohol.

The abuser subsequently enlisted help from son Ravi, ordering him to kill Eve and dispose of her body. Eve managed to escape before Ravi could put her in the grave that he’d dug, but Ravi later managed to apprehend her and once again contemplated doing the unthinkable.

Eve, however, managed to convince Ravi that he’s better than his father, urging him to break free from his control and make his own mind up.

Ravi realised that Eve was right and thus, despite his promise to Nish, he allowed Eve to live, though made it quite clear that she must leave and

Whether or not we’ve seen the last of Eve remains to be seen, but actress Heather Peace’s latest Instagram offering sees her reflect on her character’s storyline, particularly the importance of Eve and Suki’s storyline.

‘Sukeve reveal day,’ she wrote. ‘The secret is out! Nish knows! I love this story and the time and care that’s been taken by all the team @bbceastenders.

“Suki’s story has resonated with so many from what I’ve seen. The representation has meant a lot too through Eve presenting the way she does. So many thanks to the writers and producers for playing this story out in real time.

‘It’s been a precious thing, certainly for me, having not seen a love story like this when I was growing up.

‘I feel blessed to have worked alongside so many beautiful actors too who also care about storytelling.’

Fans were quick to comment, wondering if Heather has left the show.

‘Sounds like you’re saying goodbye?’ wrote one, while another added: ‘Thank you so much for telling this story with such love and care.’

We’ll just have to keep watching to find out what happens next!
