EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy continues to prove herself an iconic legend as she took to social media to ask her followers if a certain cardinal sin she’s committing against her partner is really as bad as it sounds.

The sin in question, according to the Sonia Fowler star, is nearly as bad as cheating on one’s partner!

‘Is watching an episode of something alone when you’re half way through the series with your partner really bad?! ,’ asked the soap legend. ‘Some have said it’s almost as bad as cheating!!! Thoughts please…’

Social media fans were quick to respond to the query, with a split response from users. Some reckoned Natalie’s actions were more than justified while others warned of repercussions.

‘My husband of 33 years makes me feel as if I have cheated and spent the monthly budget if I do this,’ wrote one fan. ‘Then he falls asleep five minutes in. Tell me this is a man thing.’

Twitter user Valerie Porch, meanwhile, added: ‘I do it all the time otherwise we’d never finish a series.’

Another, however, hinted that they’d face repercussions from their other half when they do such a thing, stating: ‘When I do that I’m made to sit through the episode again.’

While we would file this particular sin under ‘playing with fire,’ we’ll always make an exception for the icon that is Sonia Fowler, who can do no wrong as far as we’re concerned.

Natalie has had it busy on EastEnders over the last year, with Sonia having embarked on a new relationship with Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman), with the pair having started an IVF journey together.

Reiss, however, is harbouring a secret after he used his wife’s money to fund the IVF treatment.

Sonia, meanwhile, will also feature in Whitney Dean’s (Shona McGarty) exit storyline, with Natalie having been spotted filming scenes on-location with Bianca Jackson star Patsy Palmer.

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
