Sam Mitchell rescued by unlikely ally as she’s attacked by drug dealer in EastEnders
The EastEnders legend returns to the Square after months of absence.
TROUBLE comes back to Walford as Sam Mitchell returns with a massive bombshell.
And just as she faces danger in the form of a drug boss she owes money to, the EastEnders troublemaker finds a surprise ally.
Kim Medcalf reprises her role in the BBC One soap next week after her on-screen alter ego Sam Mitchell left Walford earlier this year for a job opportunity abroad.
During her absence, life in Albert Square took a turn for her son Ricky Branning (portrayed by Frankie Day) as he became a father to a girl named Charli in September, 2023.
Lily Slater gave birth to the tot in her lounge with the help of her grandmother Jean and mother Stacey.
But there is more to Sam’s return as she crashes back into Walford next week with a request for her brother Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).
Sam begs the tough man to help her as she’s managed to get in a drug boss’ bad books by owing him a whopping amount of money.
Phil is keen to help but his wife Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) is furious that he’s even considering it.
In later scenes, Sam wakes up at Billy Mitchell’s place and is full of self-pity when she realises she still hasn’t seen her son Ricky or baby Charli.
When her efforts to get Phil to reconsider fail, Sam runs into drug boss Camillo, who grabs her harshly by the arm.
Luckily for her, Kat sees what’s happening and rushes to get Phil and Billy (Perry Fenwick) to help, letting bygones be bygones once and for all.
Faced with his sister getting hurt, Phil caves in and promises to get Camillo his money – but is there more to the situation than meets the eye?
In later scenes, Sam finally goes to see Ricky but she has a lot more convincing to do.
The lad is hurt and angry that she’s been home several days and has not met Charli yet.
She insists that now her troubles are behind her, she’s ready to make him and Charli her priority.
Ricky remains cold, and Sam turns to Stacey (Lacey Turner) to help her convince him.
Sam is delighted to meet baby Charli and later asks Phil for a place to stay so she can be there for her family.
What will Phil respond?
Could Kat get in the way again?
Will Sam have to leave the Square when faced with their refusal?
EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
