Sistas Confirms Gary’s Fate in Season 8 Premiere — Who Stabbed Him?
If you tuned into Wednesday’s premiere of Sistas hoping to find out who stabbed Gary Borders, allow us to offer our condolences. We’re no closer to solving that little mystery than when Andi discovered his body on their wedding day back in August.
But if you were hoping for a refresher of everything that’s happened over the past seven seasons, you got exactly what you were looking for. The investigation into Gary’s stabbing began with an episode devoted almost entirely to interrogations, which served to fully recap the events of the series thus far — from Karen’s salon burning down to Sabrina’s wrongful conviction. Those detectives did their damn homework on these women.

And let’s be honest, the girls did themselves no favors in those interviews, like when Sabrina declared that she “would do anything” for her besties. (Was she expecting any response other than “…even kill?”)
Or when Danni basically celebrated Gary’s attack, saying that someone “turned him into a human shish kabob” before she got the chance, calling his assailant “an American treasure.” (No, Danni, that treasure would be you. Flirting with the detective and vaping in his face? What an absolute legend this woman is.)
Zac and Fatima handled themselves considerably better during their interviews, earning extra points for not jumping across the table and murdering that detective. Making vague threats about Zac’s son? Accusing Fatima of becoming a “sad, pathetic stereotype of the long-suffering Black woman standing by her trifling man”? He can’t talk to them like this. Who does he think he is, Tyler Perry?
Meanwhile, Hayden somehow managed to avoid the investigators, but he couldn’t get away from Tamara, who surprised him on his way out of town. Because nothing says “I’m innocent” like immediately fleeing the country.
In private, the girls coped with the drama in their own unique ways. Sabrina craved cuddles, which came thanks to a surprise visit from Rich; Danni demanded sex, which Tony refused, instead asking her to express her “feelings”; and Karen got a pick-me-up from her trusty assistant. (Side note: Our heart breaks for Karen. All of these girls have their love interests to lean on, and all she has is Pam? And she’s currently pregnant by two men, neither of whom are there to comfort her in her time of need? She deserves better.)
At least we got one answer at the end of the hour: Gary isn’t nearly as dead as the detectives were leading Andi “Fickle Tramp” Barnes to believe. Sure, he died for a hot second, but he rebounded. Because that’s what sexy cockroaches do. They survive.
Now that (most of) the suspects have survived their interrogations, who do you believe stabbed Gary? And did you gasp when Robin showed up as Andi’s legal counsel at the end of the hour? Grade the premiere, then drop a comment with your theories — no matter how wild — below.
