Strictly’s Dianne Buswell says ‘dancing with Bobby Brazier is the win’ in emotional message after BBC final

Dianne Buswell thanked Bobby Brazier for helping her “enjoy dancing like she was a little girl again” in an adorable message today.

The couple lost out to Coronation Street star Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola during Saturday night’s Strictly Come Dancing final, however Dianne insisted that she was no longer “obsessed” with winning the trophy and that “dancing with this wonderful human is the win”. She went on to say that she had been able to dance with so much joy, passion and emotion that she fell in love with dancing again.

Sharing a photo of them cuddling on the Strictly dancefloor surrounded by glitter, she wrote: “I used to be so obsessed with winning a sparkly trophy constantly thinking about that moment and what it would feel like ! But what I have realised dancing with this wonderful human is that the win and the sparkle is everywhere if you want it to be.

“Last night Bobby and I danced with so much joy passion and emotion that my heart was bursting with happiness and pride and there was our win ! Bobby’s only competition in this show was himself he wanted to become a better dancer and a better professional and to help him achieve both those goals makes me a proud teacher.

“I am so grateful that I was the lucky one to be partnered with Bobs and I am so excited for his bright future ahead he is not just a real talent but a really lovely soul . Among those to comment on the post was former pro Oti Mabuse, who wrote: “Congratulations di Di!!!!!” While Kevin Clifton wrote: “You wete both wonderful last night. Be very proud of what u achieved.”

While Dianne’s boyfriend, who attended the final, wrote that he “couldn’t have been more proud” of her. In a sweet post, he commented: “Couldn’t be more proud of you @diannebuswell. you have turned @bobbybrazier into the finest ballroom and Latin dancer. Every 5am Monday morning dropping you off at the station with bright eyes and a smile on your face, eager to teach and produce brilliant choreography every week.

“You may not have won the trophy, but you won the nations heart last night and over the course of the series and really showed everyone what you can achieve. Also massive thank you to @kimwinston for another year of the @bbcstrictly podcast. An absolute pleasure as always.”
