1. Lauren and Penny plan a return to Albert Square
Shock news from the Square reaches Lauren, who is visiting her cousin Penny in Paris.
Lauren and Penny decide it’s time for them both to return to Walford.
2. George gets some surprise visitors
Cindy continues to try and reinsert herself into the life of her ex-husband George.
Pub landlord George has other family matters to deal with when his adoptive parents, Gloria and Eddie, unexpectedly arrive for a visit. What brings them to Albert Square?
3. Whitney and Zack say goodbye to Ashton
Whitney and boyfriend Zack must tell their foster child Ashton that he is being moved to another home.
Whitney is devastated that things haven’t worked out for the couple as foster parents.
4. The Walford teens are ready to party
The Walford teenagers decide to throw a New Year’s Eve party with the help of a stolen case of beer from the Minute Mart.
The party seems likely to be a sober affair when they discover the stolen beer is alcohol-free.
5. George discovers a shocking secret
Elaine is worried about her fiancé George’s reaction to the arrival of Gloria and Eddie.
Gloria is clearly thrilled to be reunited with granddaughters Gina and Anna. But will her relationship with George be put to the test when she drops a devastating bombshell?
6. Yolande is suspected of cheating on Patrick
Yolande blackmails the Walford teens after she and Patrick bust their New Year’s Eve party plans.
She gets them out pounding the pavements, delivering church leaflets, in exchange for her silence. But Denzel is alarmed as he becomes suspicious that there is something going on between Yolande and Pastor Clayton.
7. George and Cindy investigate his past
Elaine remains uneasy about the ongoing connection between George and Cindy.
Little does Elaine know, but George sneaks off to confide in Cindy about his past adoption.
Cindy offers to help George look for some answers, but they are soon shocked by what they find out.
8. Penny considers sticking around in Albert Square
Penny is back in Albert Square after years away living in France.
But she struggles to cope in the aftermath of recent events and makes a difficult decision.
9. Denzel attacks Pastor Clayton
Denzel reluctantly agrees to help at Pastor Clayton’s soup kitchen.
However, after Denzel misreads an exchange between the Pastor and Yolande, the teenager loses his cool and “accidentally” spills hot curry all over the man of the church.
10. Gina clashes with granddad Eddie
There’s tension between visiting Eddie and his eldest granddaughter, Gina.
During a Knight family dinner, it all kicks off after Eddie makes some rude comments about Gina. What’s the reason behind the bad blood?
11. Whitney makes a big decision
Whitney is in an emotional state after saying goodbye to Ashton and decides to visit the tree memorial for her and Zack’s late baby daughter, Peach.
After a heart-to-heart with Yolande about her own experience of fostering, Whitney reaches a life-changing decision about the future.
