EastEnders star Jamie Brothwick sent EastEnders fans in a frenzy when he wrote a goodbye note to his character Jay on Instagram. In the current storyline, Jay ploughed his car straight into a tree while driving away from Walford under the influence of ketamine. The horrific accident has now landed him in the hospital in critical condition. The news of his accident sent a wave of shock and fright all through Walford. Moreover, things became even worse when the police, as well as, the doctors refused to give any details of Jay’s condition since none of his loved ones were his next of kin on paper.
Thankfully, Callum’s arrival at the scene changed the situation on EastEnders, The high ranking police officer was able to get himself and other through the hospital door and as close to Jay as possible. The October 26, 2023, episode of the BBC One soap showed Jay hanging by a thread. As Billy sat by his bedside and begged for him not to die. Billy reminded him that he was the son he chose and did not want to lose under any condition.
But will Jay be able to pull through on EastEnders? Especially, going by the Instagram update actor Jamie Brothwick posted! Strangely, he has now deleted the post from social media. Which has added several more layers of confusion over what Jay’s ultimate fate will be on the soap. After the latest episode aired, fans fired up several social media portals with emotional posts. None of them want to see Jay die. Some over their love for the character, others not wanting to see Lexi lose another parent figure.
There are also some rumours on the internet that claim that Jamie has suddenly decided to quit EastEnders. However, there is no confirmation regarding this from the actor or the production. Thus, it is really hard to say what exactly is going on. Jamie has also not given any clarification what so ever over the goodbye post he posted on his Instagram account. Which now stands deleted. Could it be that he was only fooling around, and has not really left the soap? Perhaps that is why he deleted the misleading post.
However, there is also a possibility that his post was mistimed and he actually intended to make the goodbye announcement after the passing of his EastEnders character.
