BBC EastEnders major twist sees huge villain return tonight seven years after soap axe
Speculation has been mounting over recent weeks as to whether or not Dean Wicks is set to make a return and tonight, viewers will finally get the answer to their burning question
When Linda Carter pulled out all the stops to celebrate Halloween in order to honor her ex husband’s memory, she knew it was going to be a challenge as she has struggled to come to terms with Mick’s disappearance.
But fans of EastEnders are set for one of the most dramatic storylines tonight since Mick supposedly drowned at sea last Christmas, as Dean Wicks, played by Matt Di Angelo, returns. As Linda pops upstairs to put her son Ollie to bed, she then went into the kitchen where she comes face to face with the man that raped her nine years ago.

The 36 year old actor was last seen in Walford seven years ago. The question is, is Dean likely to be the body found in the Queen Vic on Christmas Day? For weeks, fans have been trying to work out if Dean is going to make a return as EastEnders bosses have been teasing the reprisal of his role with a few clues. The fans that take on the role of Sherlock Holmes were left convinced that Matt had returned to the BBC soap after spotting a man who resembled Matt’s character in the background of a now private teaser video.
Aaliyah James, who plays Avani, shared a behind-the-scenes look at filming for EastEnders’ Christmas storyline on TikTok earlier this month, And it showed a picture tribute to the late Lola shown on the bar of the Queen Vic. But there was a male actor in the background who caught the attention of fans. When Dean was exposed as a rapist both Mick and his mum Shirley wanted nothing to do with him. But it seems a lot has changed Shirley has decided t put the past behind them.

Grieving the loss of Mick, she was staying with her daughter Carly. But a clue in a picture sent to Linda, it gave away the fact that Dean was also with them. In the mirror behind Shirley, was the reflection of him and when Linda spotted this, she broke down in tears. And this now explains why she has not been acting herself. But also, Kathy Beale said something which made the ears of fans stand to attention. Kathy, who was also been raped, told Linda after hearing that she had seen Dean in the background of the photo sent to her, that the residents of Albert Square will stand up to Dean and build a protective wall around her. And this convinced many viewers that a showdown was on the cards.
And as soon as viewers knew that Linda was one of the six women involved in the Christmas Day murder plot, it was only a matter of time before Dean’s return came to mind. It would be fitting for Dean to be the body laying dead in the pub as that was where he had attacked her. Linda has been struggling to deal with the aftermath of her attack and viewers saw that she even turned to booze in order to deal with her unresolved issues.
