BBC EastEnders Karen exit plot ‘exposed’ after axe — and it’s nothing to do with cafe fire

EastEnders star Lorraine Stanley, best known for playing Karen Taylor, is leaving Albert Square after six years - and now fans of the soap have ‘rumbled’ how she’s going to go

EastEnders fans have ‘worked out’ how Karen Taylor is going to leave the soap following news of her shock axe.

The soap favourite, played by Lorraine Stanley made her Walford debut in 2017 along with the rest of the Taylor clan. It didn’t take long before the family became embroiled in several dramatic storylines including topics of domestic abuse, poverty and racial profiling.

However, in July, fans of the long-running programme were left gutted when it was revealed she’d been booted from the BBC soap. Lorraine has since admitted she’s had a “mix of emotions” about leaving the soap.

And since the news of her exit, fans were quick to claim she will be killed off. And with a fire taking place at the iconic cafe next week, viewers speculated that’s how she’ll go out.

But now, other fans reckon she’ll be saying her goodbye to Walford in a different way. And it’ll come as a shock to viewers.

Over in Albert Square recently, Karen has played along with the fake kidnapping of her grandson Albie to take revenge on Sharon. Fans will recall how Sharon wants to take Albie and move abroad and Keanu is not happy.

However, in episodes this week, despite being safe, Keanu claimed Albie had been kidnapped by Dorian Gates, a businessman who had threatened Sharon. To make things more dramatic, Sharon received a ransom note demanding £50,000 for Albie’s safe return.

But it turns out it was actually Keanu who sent the note. Keanu revealed to his mum Karen that he had sent the ransom note – and she wasn’t impressed.

Convinced they’ll get sent down for kidnapping Albie, fans now reckon they have twigged how Karen is leaving the BBC soap. Over on X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “What if Karen does not die in the fire but takes the blame for kidnapping Albie and gets arrested.”

Echoing their thoughts, someone else said: “As the days go on I genuinely don’t believe Karen will die in the cafe fire I think she will leave Walford after taking the wrap for Keanu and saying she kidnapped Albie.” A third quipped: “OK so now I don’t think Karen is going to be killed off… Her exit could be getting sent to prison.”

Yeah she’s going to jail for the kidnap, she’s the one who goes to pick up Albie and it’s only time before they realise it’s her brother-in-law.
