BBC EastEnders fans ‘work out’ Karen’s exit storyline – and it’s not the café fire

EastEnders fans have rumbled how Karen Taylor will exit Walford after some believed she would die in the café fire at Kathy's later this week

EastEnders fans have worked out how Karen Taylor will exit Walford – and it’s not in the café fire.

Later this week, Rocky will set fire to the café in a bid to claim money off the insurance. The café is struggling with multiple electric failures at the moment, and desperate for money, he seizes the opportunity.

When it was reported that Karen Taylor actress Lorraine Stanley would be leaving the BBC soap, many thought she might die in the café fire but fans are now convinced they’ve rumbled her real exit storyline amid the fake kidnapping of Sharon’s son Albie.

Keanu and Karen worked together to kidnap Albie after their anger at finding out Sharon was considering moving away from Walford and taking her son with him, with some fans now believing her exit storyline would be linked to this.

“I’m wondering if the “kidnap” storyline will be the reason Karen leaves. I can see the truth coming out and Karen taking all the blame to protect Keanu,” one viewer penned on Reddit as they gave their theory.

Another viewer added: “I can’t believe that after everything that has happened, she still wants to fleece Sharon and take her son. I’m glad Keanu told her no. She sounds like she’s totally lost the plot,” with a third writing: “She is completely off the rails.”

Lorraine previously broke her silence on her exit, admitting she felt a mix of emotions. She said: “I was sad, it was a mix of emotions, it’s sad but it’s exciting as now I can go and do what I want. I just want people to remember her as the best mum on the square, a heart of gold, she’d give you her last fiver and would do anything for her kids – a bit like myself.”

She also took to Instagram to thank the fans for their support. She wrote: “I’m so grateful for all of your lovely messages this past week. Thank you to Daran Little for creating the Taylors and to the BBC for giving me the opportunity to play such a fabulous character, I’ll be sad to be saying goodbye to Karen Taylor and will miss all the cast and crew at EastEnders. However I’m looking forward to my next chapter and excited about being a jobbing Actor again and starting new ventures. Again your kind words of support have been amazing!!! I’m going to miss my Taylor/Baker famalam.”
