EastEnders beauties ‘turn to sex work’ after ‘financial desperation’ in huge twist, AI says
EXCLUSIVE: Lauren and Penny Branning are struggling to make ends meet in the soap at the moment - now it’s been claimed the two could turn to sex work in a shocking new twist
EastEnders’ Lauren and Penny Branning could be turning to sex work in a bid to survive, AI has claimed.
The cousins rocked up to Walford at the New Year after living in France. Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) was last seen on the soap in 2018, while Penny, now played by Kitty Castledine, hasn’t been since since 2008.
However things took a dramatic turn when after landing in the UK, Lauren was arrested for having drugs in her luggage. Unbeknownst to her, it was Penny who had planted the drugs after getting involved with drug dealer Juliette.
Penny eventually told the truth, and agreed to cooperate with the police about Juliette. This meant Lauren was able to leave prison and she then reunited with her family in Walford.
However, the pair have failed to secure both full-time jobs and a place to live so far. In episodes this week Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) left the square temporarily to visit Bianca Jackson in Milton Keynes – and Penny and Lauren have being running her stall on the market.
But now, it’s been claimed that Penny and Lauren could be set for a shock new storyline that could see them become sex workers. Daily Star has quizzed one of the world’s most popular artificially intelligent “creative” tools Bard AI to see if the pair could become sex workers the soap.
The program responded: “It is certainly a possibility that Lauren and Penny Branning could be turning to sex work in EastEnders, given their current situation.” The system then claimed that a reason for their new job could be “financial desperation.”

It explained: “Both Lauren and Penny have been struggling financially for some time. With mounting bills and no other income sources, they could be feeling desperate enough to consider prostitution as a way to make quick money.”
Another reason could be the pair’s “lack of options.” Bard AI said: “With their limited qualifications and skills, finding legitimate employment might be difficult for Lauren and Penny. They could feel like they have no other choice but to turn to desperate measures to survive.”
