BBC EastEnders fans rumble Ravi’s ex’s true motive in shocking identity twist

EastEnders fans are convinced they have rumbled the true motive of Ravi Gulati’s ex in a shocking identity twist.

The arrival of Ravi’s ex-wife Priya and daughter Avani caused quite a stir as Ravi had no idea she existed. Priya has been secretly raising Avani away from the Square and without Ravi’s knowledge, not even telling him that she had fallen pregnant.

Now fans of the BBC soap are sure they’ve discovered an upcoming storyline and a huge twist about who Avani really is. Some fans are convinced Priya is working alongside Avani, pretending that she is her daughter in a bid to scam money out of Ravi.

One viewer took to Reddit to share their theory: “So Avani’s is meant to be 14 but her actress is 23 Maybe this isn’t an accident. Let’s think about how she was introduced in the past two episodes. Wednesday: She hits on Martin. Thursday: She drinks Priya’s coffee. Both of these things are her acting older than she’s mean to be.. Maybe it’s hinting that she’s not as young as she’s pretending to be. Maybe she’s just Priya’s friend and not actually her daughter and they are trying to scam Ravi.”

Another agreed, replying: “I thought the same. I think she might be his daughter now but at first I really did think she was 18 ish and scamming Ravi along with Priya,” as a second shared: “You know, I thought the same thing today – maybe the twist is revealed that she’s actually 23 yrs old on the show and she’s Priya’s little sister (I could go with friend) but they’re scamming Ravi (and the family).”

Soap boss Chris Clenshaw has teased their arrival will cause “big drama” in the Square, and there will be some big challenges for Ravi.

Speaking about their arrival, Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw, shared: “We’re excited to introduce Priya and Avani, two women guaranteed to cause big drama in Albert Square. Little is known about Ravi and Priya’s doomed romance, but she’s a big missing piece in his past. The revelation that he’s got another child will floor Ravi, and he is set to face a big challenge in his life when he is forced to cope with such a big shock to the system. We’re delighted to welcome Sophie and Aaliyah to the EastEnders family.”

Sophie Khan Levy – who plays Priya – has teased her character will be finding herself in trouble in coming scenes. She shared: “I’m super excited to be joining the show, and I can’t wait to see what trouble Priya gets herself into! I watched EastEnders when I was growing up, so to see so many familiar faces and to walk onto the set is a dream come true.”

Aaliyah James – who plays Avani – added: “To be given this opportunity as my official debut to screen is a true blessing. I have found home in the supportiveness of the cast and crew, and I’m very thankful to feel a part of the EastEnders family already. I can’t wait to bring Avani to life and to walk her path in Walford, and I’m excited to see what the universe has planned for my own future.”
