EastEnders fans have rumbled who is targeting Dean Wicks – and it’s not Gina Knight.

Dean – played by Matt Di Angelo – made a shock return to the BBC soap recently, leaving Linda Carter understandably terrified. She was raped by him in heartbreaking scenes just a few years’ back and has been struggling ever since.

He is back in Walford after his daughter underwent treatment at the nearby hospital, but he has certainly not kept a low profile since his return by going into business with Cindy and Ian Beale for their new venture.

Linda has been struggling since Dean’s return, with him adamant he didn’t rape her. Luckily, she has had the support of her family and friends, including mum Elaine and her partner George Knight, as well as George’s two daughters Anna and Gina. Alfie Moon has also been a big support for her, even though he is battling his own health struggles at present.

Gina had been putting posters up around Walford, telling people to boycott the new business, and tonight, as the episode ended, we saw someone spray the word ‘rapist’ on the front of the shop, but it was not shown who was responsible.

Whilst it would be obvious to assume it was Gina, fans are convinced it was someone else on the Square and there’s a heartbreaking reason why she could be responsible for the backlash against Dean.

“I totally forgot about Amy’s connection to Dean, poor thing. It was nice to see how much Jack has changed as a parent though, compared to this time last year,” one fan shared following the episode.

A second added: “I wish the Jack/Amy thing wasn’t off-screen. That’s a vital, major moment in Amy’s life and I wish we’d seen Jack actually having to tell her what Dean did. Lost some impact being off screen. Missed opportunity,” with a third replying: “My guess is to make her seem less suspicious in the spray painting because I reckon it’ll be her. But I still do wish we saw it.”

Amy has a historical link with Dean. Her mum Roxy was also raped by Dean. After the harrowing rape, Roxy felt she needed a break so handed Amy over to Jack and that was how she ended up staying and growing up with him.
