EastEnders legend Jamie Borthwick has appeared to have confirmed his character Jay Brown’s fate in a now-deleted Instagram post.
The actor logged into his social media account on Wednesday (October 25) to share a throwback snap of himself as Jay and paid tribute to his alter-ego. Alongisde the picture, Jamie penned: “RIP Jay, gonna miss you lad. We had a laugh didn’t we.”
He has been at the centre of some of the biggest storylines on the BBC soap recently following the tragic death of his on-screen life Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) but it looks like Jay could be next to be leaving Walford after a harrowing incident.
During the latest episode, viewers watched as Jay fled Albert Square and headed to Margate after taking drugs. The news of Jay’s accident has rocked Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick), Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) and Callum Highway (Tony Clay) but his fate is currently unknown.

It comes after actor Jamie told Daily Star that he’s eyeing up a role in the Peaky Blinders film. He said at the time that he’s “looking forward” to a bit of a rest at filming harrowing EastEnders scenes. He said: “I’m looking forward to a nice rest, to be honest, it’s been a tough year, then we’ll see. Not any reality ones, but Peaky Blinders, I’d love to do that. they’re doing a film though, so tell them to shout to me, ‘cos I’m available!”

It has been reported that the script for the Peaky Blinders film is now finished, with a potential release date in Spring 2024. When asked who he would like to see come back to the BBC soap, he also shared his opinions about this on the red carpet. “I’d love to see Martin Kemp come back,” he stated. Fans will have to wait and see if it’s the end of Jay.
