Bobby Brazier shares gruelling weight loss after BBC Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals

EastEnders actor Bobby Brazier is currently taking part in the latest series of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing alongside professional partner Dianne Buswell

Bobby Brazier has said that he is “tiny” as he opened up about his weight loss after his intense Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals.

The EastEnders actor revealed he has lost four inches from his waist since starting his Strictly journey, explaining that his waist has gone from 31ins to 27ins following 11 hour a day rehearsals. He has said his physique has changed dramatically since joining the show as a result of intense dance training. However, Dianne has said she makes sure that her partner eats plenty while they are learning their routines.

While the duo have quickly become fan favourites, they may struggle to get past Saturday’s quarter-final after having already landed in the dance-off before.

Speaking on BBC Breakfast to hosts Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty, Bobby said: “I’m so much fitter and stronger. I’ve got a 27inch waist now. That’s tiny. It was something like 31inches before.” Dianne responded: “Wow. I make sure he eats a lot as well.”

Bobby said he had ordered a stack of pancakes ahead of starting rehearsals on their Salsa to I’ve Had The Time Of My Life from Dirty Dancing for Musicals Week.

Dianne said how they tend to train from 9am in the morning until 8pm at night with only Sunday off. The two of them have been on a high since performing their Couple’s Choice performance to This Woman’s Work last Saturday which was done in tribute to Bobby’s late mother Jade Goody.

Bobby has since shared his brother’s emotional reaction to his BBC Strictly Come Dancing tribute to their mum. The EastEnders star celebrated the legacy of his late mother with a heartfelt dance, leaving both the judges and viewers wowed by the performance.

The poignant routine was also watched by Bobby’s younger brother, Freddie, who was quick to show his support for the 20-year-old actor.

Bobby also said that his dad Jeff Brazier had said a “genuine, sweet well done,” after the dance was over, before adding that both his father and brother were “very proud” of his touching tribute.

The performance earned Bobby and Dianne an high score of 37 points, landing them second place on the leader board and bringing them one step closer to bagging that coveted Glitterball Trophy.

Jeff Brazier later shared a heartfelt message after the performance on Instagram, writing, “To share your grief even to just one person can be a daunting prospect but to express it so movingly in front of millions takes incredible courage so thank you for your inspiration @bobbybrazier!”
