Danny Dyer wears body armour during punch up on set of hooligan drama Football Factory 2
Sources previously said that the role is a passion project for the ex-EastEnders star
TV tough guy Danny Dyer is padded up in body armour as he shouts the odds on the set of a film about hooligans — then gets decked by a staged punch.
The ex-EastEnders star, 46, is reprising the role of Tommy Johnson in a sequel to 2004 movie The Football Factory.
He wore knee guards and a padded jacket under a trench coat as grappled with a co-star on the set in Essex.
A witness said: “He may be 20 years older — but Dan’s character still looks a menace.”
Insiders previously revealed the Football Factory sequel has been given the working title of Marching Powder – a euphemism for the celebrity loved snow.
Fans will remember that the original 2004 film saw Danny Dyer and his co-star’s characters snort so much cocaine they made the Gallagher brothers look like amateurs.
A source said last November: “The hope is they can turn filming around quickly enough so it comes out in 2024 – in time for the 20th anniversary.
“The script for Marching Powder will reveal what happened to the rival factions of hooligans after the end of the last film.
“It’s a real passion project for Danny who can’t wait to get his teeth back into the role.”
The plot of the film, which is bringing back Football Factory’s original director Nick Love, is still a closely guarded secret.
But whatever it ends up being, you can guarantee you’ll see more snow in that film than you’ll do this winter.
