EastEnders affair ‘rumbled’ for axed Karen and familiar face as bosses drop huge clue
EastEnders is no stranger to airing a saucy affair - and now viewers of the long-running BBC show reckon Nish and Karen will follow suit after the soap dropped a clue
EastEnders fans reckon Nish Panesar and Karen Taylor are going to have an affair – after the soap dropped a major clue.
Nish, played by Navin Chowdry, first joined the cast back in 2022. Since then, he’s caused plenty of drama and has been involved in a ton of hard-hitting storylines.
Karen (Lorraine Stanley) meanwhile, made her Albert Square debut in 2017 along with the rest of the Taylor clan. It didn’t take long before the family became embroiled in several dramatic storylines including topics of domestic abuse, poverty and racial profiling.
However, in July, fans of the long-running programme were left gutted when it was reported she’s been booted from the BBC soap. It is understood Lorraine will be written out of the show at the end of the year.
On Friday (October 6) the soap uploaded a snap to its Instagram account of Lorraine and Navin. In the picture, Lorraine can be seen playfully posing with her finger in her mouth.
Amping up the cheekiness, she also pulled on Navin’s tie – who looked at the camera with a smirk. Taking to the caption, the soap penned: “We don’t blame you.”
Fans were left in a frenzy over seeing the two characters look rather cosy in the snap. Rushing to the comments section, plenty theorised the pair could be having an affair.
One proclaimed: “Future affair!” A second chimed in and mused: “What the hell is happening here?!”
A third quipped: “I’m calling it now they will have an affair.” Someone else penned: “Please affair.”
Lorraine isn’t the only EastEnders star who is saying goodbye to Albert Square. Shone McGarty, who has played the role of Whitney Dean since she was 16-year-old, quit the soap after 15 years on the show in July too.

The actress told The Sun on Sunday that she is spreading her wings but “loved her years on the show”, adding: “I have been trusted with some incredible storylines and have made amazing friendships – and family – which will endure.”
A source explained the decision for the actress wasn’t easy and she’s “gutted” to be leaving after making the difficult choice to exit. However it’s said Shona now feels it’s time to try something new. They added: “Shona is really looking forward to new projects and expanding her career horizon.”
