EASTENDERS airs shock arrest as Callum Highway betrays his friend.
The policeman – who is played by actor Tony Clay in the BBC soap – discovered Jay’s secret drug taking tonight and had him arrested for it.
In tonight’s episode Callum found Jay with ketamine and warned him that he was putting his health and Lexie at risk by using it.
He thought he had got through to him but later when Jay disappeared after a family meal, Callum realised he’d gone to buy more drugs.
But after Jay fled, Callum called his colleagues on the drugs unit and arranged for them to intercept him.
As Jay rushed to Nadine she said: “What’s the big hurry?”
Jay told her: “I haven’t got long, I need some more stuff. Callum took my last bag. I just needed to take the edge off. So come on…”
“That’s the police,” said Nadine and fled leaving Jay to face the music.
Jay turned around but didn’t have chance to run, and ended up arrested.
The police woman said: “Excuse me sir, it looked like you were talking to that woman. So when she gave you something and you passed her some money, she wasn’t dealing to you?
“If you’ve nothing to hide, you won’t mind if we search you?”
As they found the drugs, the officer said: “What’s this then? Jay Brown I’m arresting you on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug.
“You do not have to say anything but it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned something you later rely on in court. Anything you do say may be given in evidence.”
Jay was then escorted to the station and fans were in shock.
One wrote: “Ffs Jay getting arrested for drugs.”
A second said: “Jay 100% deserved that arrest.”
Another added: “idc callum is an awful friend; he knew jay was going to see nadine, but still called the police?”
