THE EastEnders Christmas trailer has hinted at an explosive twist for The Six – and it’s all to do with the bells.
Fans of the BBC soap are eagerly awaiting the big reveal as to who the mystery man is lying dead on the floor of the Queen Vic on Christmas Day.
EastEnders bosses have been teasing fans with clues throughout episodes and with trailers for each of ‘The Six’ – the group of women involved in the storyline.
The characters involved are Sharon, Linda, Suki, Stacey, Denise and Kathy and earlier this week, EastEnders revealed the full trailer, putting all their clips together for the first time in the right order.
Each woman’s moment is punctuated with a bell ringing, while Kathy’s clip shows a sign reading “For whom the bell tolls”.
But eagle-eyed viewers noticed that the bell then rang for a seventh and final time, and they believe it’s a clue that there is a seventh woman involved in the death.
Taking to X – formerly Twitter, one wrote: “7 bell tolls and 7 deadly sins but the 6? Maybe there is one more woman. Who else has a colour mostly associated with them?”
Another added: “#EastEnders 7 Bells Ring. Six women. I think Eve is the 7th and kills Nish.”
A third tweeted: “I’ve just cracked the code…big clue in the trailer… The bell rings 7 times, so there’s a 7th woman. Can’t wait for Christmas day, I hope I’m right, I think I know who dies.”
Fans were previously convinced that Linda’s mother Elaine would be the seventh woman.
Taking to X one soap fan wrote: “You know I’m done. Except for the Christmas murder which is set to be the best thing ever.
“Sharon, Linda, Denise, Kathy, Suki, and Stacey are set to kill a man on Christmas Day. But who? I say Elaine has Dean “a chip of the old block” killed over the head with a bust!”
Another added: “EastEnders Christmas – Who gets killed. Victim: – Dean Wicks. Attacker: – Elaine Peacock. Item Used: – Queen Vic Bust. Motive: – Protect George Knight (fighting Dean Wicks) and revenge for her daughter Linda (who was r*ped by Dean Wicks).”
However, now that Phil Mitchell has been confirmed as one of the seven men linked to The Six and the Christmas Day episode, many think his wife Kat will be the seventh woman.
But viewers have a couple more weeks to wait and see if their theories are right, and in the meantime, there’s bound to be more clues dropped into episodes to pour over.
