EastEnders fans open-mouthed as Sonia Fowler ruins Lauren Branning’s Walford return with life-changing family bombshell
As Lauren and Louie walked away, Sonia turned to Whitney and said: "I think she should know."
EASTENDERS fans have been left open-mouthed after Sonia Fowler ruined Lauren Branning’s Walford return with a life-changing family bombshell.
Tonight’s episode saw Lauren – played by Jacqueline Jossa – finally reach Albert Square after her airport arrest for smuggling drugs.
Lauren immediately went to see son Louie, who is staying with ex Peter Beale, and the pair shared a charged moment.
However, things went awry pretty quickly when Lauren found out that cousin Penny had been the one to plant the drugs on her, and Peter had found out but not told her.
Lauren decided to leave Walford immediately, despite Sonia and Whitney trying to convince her to stay.
But Lauren told them the Square held too many bad memories, mainly sister Abi’s death after she fell from the Queen Vic’s roof on Christmas Day 2017.
She said: “Abi, she was part of me, now no matter where I go I feel lonely.”
As Lauren and Louie walked away, Sonia turned to Whitney and said: “I think she should know. She’s been through so much, knowing she’s got family, it’s going to mean something isn’t it?”
Moments later, Sonia opened the door to the taxi Lauren was about to leave in and blurted out: “I don’t know if I should be doing this, but I want…in fact you need to know, you’ve got another sister in Walford!”
Sonia is referring to Annie Carter – Linda’s little girl – who many believe is the daughter of Linda’s husband Mick, but really, her father is Lauren’s dad, Max Branning.
Linda had panicked earlier in the episode when she saw Lauren, but was reassured by Sonia that she wouldn’t say anything, only to blab to Lauren minutes later.
Taking to X – formerly Twitter – one EastEnders fan wrote: “Sonia with the blabber mouth again.”
Another added: “NOT SONIA PROMISING LINDA SHE’LL KEEP QUIET ABOUT ANNIE JUST TO SPILL THE BEANS FIVE MINUTES LATER TO LAUREN.”
A third tweeted: “god sonia’s a cow isn’t she! she needs to mind her own business with her weird boyfriend methinks.”
Meanwhile a fourth added: “Who the bloody hell does Sonia think she is? Shut your big fat gob.”
