TV Season & Spoilers has regularly been updating fans over the upcoming exit of Karen Taylor on EastEnders. Although there are many speculations around what the exit story exactly will be. One thing is confirmed that actress Lorraine Stanley is definitely out of the BBC One soap. Now, in a recent chat with the media, the Walford icon and powerhouse performer has broken her silence over getting booted from the soap she has been central to for six years.

Lorraine admitted to The Sun that she feels gutted over being axed from EastEnders, as part of their casting shakeup.”I was sad, it was a mix of emotions,” she sighed. However, she insisted that new doors have opened for her after walking out of Albert Square. And one of those doors leads her to a substantial part in a rival soap. “It’s sad but it’s exciting as now I can go and do what I want,” she added. She feels that when one stays in one place, one role for too long, it just gets comfortable. So she’s happy that she will now get to come out of her comfort zone.

EastEnders: “Karen Is A Bit Like Me,”- Lorraine Stanley

Speaking about her character, Lorraine hopes that people will remember Karen as the best mom on EastEnders. The one with a heart of gold. Lorraine feels Karen is the kind of woman who will give you her last fiver and she would do just about anything for her kinds. “She’s a bit like myself.” the actress muses. Interestingly, her exit story hasn’t even rolled out yet and Lorraine already has her eyes set on a rival soap. When asked if she would join a rival soap, she said that if she ever has to, it will be Corrie. “I would have to be the new landlady,” the soap star insisted.

Furthermore, Lorraine jokes that she will not play the ugly mum on Hollyoaks. After EastEnders, she’d rather play “Gemma’s auntie, Bernie’s sister. I’d be in there family and I’d take over The Rovers” on Corrie. Talking about her exit from the BBC One soap, she insisted that she can’t spill much. However, she stated as a matter of fact that if they kill her, she is not watching the show again. Well, how would you feel if they did kill Karen? Tell us in the comments.
