EASTENDERS favourite Molly Rainford has revealed her soap future as she opened up about an “emotional” and “hard hitting” storyline for the Knight family.

Molly, 23, said her on-screen family will be at the centre of a sensitive storyline that will play out over the coming months.

But Strictly star Molly said she has no plans on leaving Walford and is hoping her character becomes a “legacy”.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Molly said about the storyline: “All I can say is that it’s very emotional, hardhitting for all the family but very cool to play.

“I’m hoping to be a legacy character, I love the show, I’ve always loved it since I was little and just to be on it with people that I’ve watched for that long is an honour but hopefully.

“I’d love to work more with the Slaters, they are are iconic and Phil Mitchell, I’ve not done many with him but I can imagine it’s scary.”

Molly also revealed that the explosive Christmas murder scenes were kept “top secret” from the cast members who were not involved with the plot.

She told us at the Cirque du Soleil Alegría: In a New Light  European Premiere on Wednesday night: “I had no idea what was going to happen, it was all done very top secret.

“As a viewer it was great to watch it with my family.

“It’s all kept very hush hush right now, they’ve done a very good job for six amateur criminals.

“I can tell Linda [Carter] is feeling it, I am worried about her.

“We’ve seen her, she’s a bit messy, can’t really control it, she’s drinking a lot. She’s my step-sister now, I’m rooting for her.”

“It was so sad to see Danny Walters go, he was such a nice cast mate, he’s such a lovely guy but I’m excited to see what he does next.”

Nish, played by Navin Chowdhry, slowly gets his memory back in upcoming scenes after having indirectly witnessed Keanu Taylor’s murder.

Molly said she is worried the six matriarchs could be in trouble.

“I’m always a bit scared of Nish in any shape or form but hopefully he doesn’t remember too much,” Molly laughed.

In shock scenes, George was told that he was adopted via a process known as farming which saw children advertised for money for parents looking to give children a home.

It sparked questions regarding George’s real heritage.

Viewers have quickly realised that Gloria and Eddie are not what they seem as it’s clear both are still concealing secrets from their son.

Eddie’s racist ideologies have come to the forefront as his fractured relationships with his family are exposed as they challenge him on his views.

In order to accurately portray the difficult storyline, the EastEnders crew have worked tirelessly with experts and people who have experienced farming in real-life in order to ensure the story is told as accurately as possible.

Reflecting on the upcoming plot, EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw said: “EastEnders has a rich history of telling challenging yet truthful stories which reflect past and present events.

“George Knight’s storyline will force him to question the identity his parents gave him from childhood as he discovers the true means by which he was adopted.

“It was imperative that we worked with experts and people with lived experience of farming to ensure the storyline is handled as sensitively and as accurately as possible.”

Colin Salmon has portrayed George on EastEnders since June last year when he joined the cast as Elaine Peacock’s partner.

He arrived with his daughters Gina and Anna and their dog Tyson.
