EastEnders reveals Lauren Branning’s big decision over dad Max

She has finally met sister Annie.

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders has revealed Lauren Branning’s big decision after meeting her sister Annie.

Lauren finally came face-to-face with Linda Carter in Tuesday’s (January 9) episode, discovering the truth about her father Max having a daughter with Linda a few years ago.

After learning about her sister from Sonia Fowler, an irate Lauren turned up at the Vic demanding to meet to her 2-year-old sibling.

Lauren calmed down once Linda explained that she wanted Annie to have the supportive father she needed, in Mick, rather than tell Max the truth.

“I’m so sorry you lost him,” Lauren said of Mick.

Linda begged Lauren not to tell Max about Annie, insisting it’s “not the right time”. Lauren was left questioning what to do as she made a hasty exit from the Vic.

She dropped in to talk things over with her uncle Jack Branning, although she wasn’t thrilled he’d also kept the secret from her. Lauren further revealed she hadn’t properly spoken to dad Max in a long time.

“I practically delivered the baby,” Jack explained to Lauren.

Asked whether she should tell her dad the truth, Jack admitted he had no idea what to do since he was struggling to make sense of his own fractured relationship with daughter Penny.

“If you want any advice, get it from anyone other than me,” he told his niece.

Lauren later visited Linda at the Vic to promise that, although she wouldn’t lie, she would keep her mouth shut about Annie since Linda was struggling.

A grateful Linda invited Lauren to come upstairs, where she introduced Annie to her sister for the first time. Lauren promised that Annie now had “a best friend forever”.

Lauren had been expecting to leave Walford this week, though she reconsidered her decision when Annie asked if she could stay.

Linda later confided in her mum Elaine that while Lauren had promised not to tell Max the truth right now, she knew he’d now find out about Annie eventually.

EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
