EastEnders revisits tragic baby death in surprising and devastating scenes
Dean Wicks’ (Matt Di Angelo) daughter Jade heads to Walford in upcoming EastEnders episodes and during her visit, she will reflect on the death of her brother Zaair.
In 2015, Jade’s mum Shabnam and her partner Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadmai) headed to the hospital after Shabnam revealed she hadn’t felt her baby move for a few days.
After a scan, Shabnam and Kush were given the devastating news the baby had died in the womb.
Shabnam was then given some medication to start her labour and the next day, she returned to the hospital to give birth to a little boy called Zaair.
Coming up, Jade – who has cystic fibrosis – arrives in Albert Square and is found by Dean shortly after.
Following her visit to Zaair’s grave, Jade laments her own prognosis and rejects Dean’s attempts to comfort her.
However, after a chat with Gina (Francesca Henry) about absent parents, Jade ends up giving her dad another chance.
Later in the week, Dean is involved in another confrontation with Linda (Kellie Bright) but this time, a curious Jade watches the event unfold.
Keanu (Danny Walters), who is at Beale’s Eels at the same time, tells Jade that her dad is a sexual predator.
Completely disgusted, Jade leaves Walford.
We know that Jade’s upcoming transplant will happen at a hospital near Albert Square, meaning there’s every chance we will see her again.
Viewers will remember Shabnam put Jade up for adoption shortly after she was born.
They were reunited in 2016 during the storyline that tied in with Shabnam’s exit from the show.
The plot also saw Shabnam and Kush’s marriage come to an end.
Just a few years later, in 2021, Kush was brutally murdered by Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith), who pushed the beloved character in front of an oncoming train.
