Sonia Fowler and Reiss Colwell (Natalie Cassidy and Jonny Freeman) are set to take the next step in their IVF journey in upcoming EastEnders episodes, though it may be set to tear them apart.

The couple made the big decision earlier this year to try for a baby through IVF, after Reiss revealed that he was unable to conceive children naturally.

It all came amid a mix up in which Sonia worried she may be pregnant, only for Reiss to accuse her of sleeping with someone else as he was unable to have children.

Luckily, the pair put the mix up behind them and Sonia soon agreed to try for a baby with Reiss through IVF.

Though Sonia was concerned about how much the whole process would cost, Reiss assured her that it was all in hand, but failed to mention that the money had come from the account of Reiss’ comatose wife, Debbie.

In upcoming scenes, the couple will head to the hospital for their first round of IVF, and the problems begin almost straight away.

Sonia soon finds Reiss’ overbearing attitude unbearable, and only becomes further frustrated when he tries to administer her medication.

It isn’t long before the pair erupt into a furious row, and as things get more out of hand, Sonia admits that she doesn’t know if this is going to work.

Devastated, Reiss heads to the Vic, where his problems become the main topic of conversation.

Stopping for a drink with George Knight (Colin Salmon), Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe), Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and Patrick and Yolande Trueman (Rudolph Walker and Angela Wynter), Reiss is soon discussing IVF and fertility.

Will the conversation help him to get back on track with Sonia, or will he decide that they may be better off going their separate ways?
