Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) heads back to Walford in upcoming EastEnders episodes.
The beloved character has spent the last few weeks in Spain. While Alfie told his loved ones that he was there on a holiday, we know he was actually recovering from an operation, after the news he has prostate cancer.
One person who knows what’s really going on with Alfie is friend Linda (Kellie Bright). She was by his side when Alfie woke up from his operation and revealed that it had gone smoothly.
Finally back home, Alfie heads to the hospital with Linda soon, ready to receive his PSA results, which will reveal how much prostate specific antigen Alfie has in his blood.
Back in the Square, Alfie pales when Kat (Jessie Wallace) approaches and tears into him for the disappearing act, but she soon softens when Alfie ends up revealing the truth.
Later in the week, Kat and Alfie head to Walford East where Alfie reveals his cancer diagnosis to Tommy (Sonny Kendall), but how will he react?
Given Tommy was under the impression his Dad upped and left him again, will the relationship between these two start to change?
As well as supporting Alfie, Linda has an awful lot on her plate at the moment following the shock return of Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo).
‘Linda’s in deep, deep shock,’ admitted Kellie Bright, discussing the scenes that saw Dean enter the kitchen and confront Linda. ‘He is the last person that she expected to see walking through the door of her kitchen.
‘He’s in her home and in the exact room where he raped her. She obviously goes into complete shock, and her body is filled with adrenaline. She is absolutely terrified, above and beyond anything else.
‘It doesn’t matter what Dean’s saying, as Linda is in fight or flight mode from the moment he appears.’
