Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) has been determined to win Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) back ever since she left him for cheating on her in EastEnders, but it seems she has moved on for good.

Kat wasted no time in packing her bags and leaving after Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) announced that Phil had slept with Emma Harding (Patsy Kensit) just before their wedding.

While Phil remained determined to try and win her back, Kat quickly found solace in the arms of Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry), who offered her a place to stay free of charge.

Now, things seem to be getting official between Nish and Kat, much to Phil’s distaste.

In recent scenes, Phil confronted Kat about her living conditions, revealing that Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) had complained to him about how small their new flat was.

Though Kat insisted that they were fine, she was left irritated when Phil left her an envelope full of cash.

Furious, she stormed over to the house they once shared and threw it back at him, making it clear that they were done and she didn’t want his handouts.

When Phil begged her to come home, Kat insisted that she wanted to move on, though Phil wasn’t happy with who she had chosen to move on with.

He urged her to pick someone else to date, who would treat her the way she deserved to be treated.

It’s not often we agree with Phil Mitchell, but we have to agree that we want Kat to steer clear of killer Nish.

However, Kat retorted that she thought she had found that with Phil, before he broke her heart.

‘Everyone told me to run a mile, but there I was,’ Kat said, ‘Kat Slater standing by her man. More fool me.’

Having ignored Phil, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) and Stacey Slater’s (Lacey Turner) warnings to stay away from Nish, we can’t help but wonder if this will end in heartbreak for Kat too.

Nish has proven to be a vile abuser, having put Suki through hell during their marriage.

With his controlling side set to be revealed to Kat in upcoming scenes, will she see him for who he really is and get out before it’s too late?
