Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis) has made Stacey Slater’s (Lacey Turner) life a misery for the past few months in EastEnders with his horrific stalking, but his fate has finally been revealed.

Stacey has spent the past few days on tenterhooks waiting to find out how Theo will plead at his plea hearing.

Theo first came into the lives of the Slaters after Freddie (Bobby Brazier) decided to track down his old teacher.

From then on, Theo inserted himself into the family by helping Freddie to get an ADHD diagnosis and offering to tutor pregnant 12-year-old Lily (Lillia Turner) free of charge.

While Martin Fowler (James Bye) was worried that Theo may have an ulterior motive, the rest of the family shrugged it off, though viewers soon learnt that Martin was right.

Stacey had been secretly video calling a private client, and it soon transpired that the man was Theo using a false identity.

The requests from Stacey’s client slowly became more and more disturbing, until eventually it became clear that he knew far more about her than she had told him.

Meanwhile, Theo’s behaviour offline was no less creepy, as he often wandered around the house sniffing Stacey’s clothes and stealing her belongings.

When Theo finally revealed his true identity, Stacey freaked out and made it clear that she wanted nothing more to do with him.

However, Theo wasn’t going to take no for an answer, and after Stacey failed to secure a stalking protection order, Theo broke into her house and tried to rape her.

Thankfully, Freddie stepped in and attacked Theo with an iron, saving Stacey.

In recent scenes, Theo appeared in court having been charged with stalking, harassment and attempted rape.

With Stacey having already asked him to plead guilty, falsely promising that she would wait for him while he was in prison, she was praying that he would abide by her request.

With Martin and Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) by her side in court, Stacey let out a sigh of relief as Theo pleaded guilty to his crimes.

With Theo now facing a jail sentence of up to ten years, does this put him out of the running to be the body on the floor this Christmas?
