EastEnders Star Reveals Jay’s Fate On The Soap
Ever since Lola Pearce’s passing on EastEnders, Jay has been struggling to come to terms with the shattering loss. However, any and every attempt he has made thus far has only failed him. Falling apart piece by piece, things came to a point for Jay where he started depending on drugs as his coping mechanism. After meeting sex-worker Nadine, he became introduced to Ketamine, and started to frequently consume it to fade his anguish. But when have drugs ever helped anyone? Unfortunately, Jay had to learn it the toughest way possible.
Previously, on EastEnders, Jay’s drug dependency came to the surface when Callum caught him red handed. The situation escalated rather fast and soon all his loved ones turned against him. Snubbing him for spiraling so out of control, without giving Lexi any thought. The harshness got to Jay and he drove off under ketamine’s influence, hoping to leave Walford behind him. But life had other plans for him, he rammed his car straight into a tree and landed in the hospital, life hanging in the balance.
For the past few days, fans have been anxious to find out what is in store for Jay next on EastEnders. Will he make it, will he not? This anxiety became all the more wosrse when Jay’s portrayer Jamie Brothwick posted a goodbye post for Jay on his Instagram account. Essentially suggesting that Jay will not survive in the aftermath of his car crash. As expected, fans flew in a frenzy, not wanting to lose one of their most loved Walford resident. However, adding another layer of confusion, Jamie deleted the post soon after!
Those who tuned into the previous episode of EastEnders saw Jay coming out of his comatose state. So it seems Jay is alive, as of now. But will that remain the case, or will Jay’s condition take a turn for the worse unexpectedly? Jamie thinks not! The BBC One soap star shared a meme on his social media which stated ” I’m alive”. Effectively dismissing all rumors and speculations about Jay dying on the soap. Moreover, commenting on the possibility of his exit, Jamie told the media that he is a very giving person and he would be okay dying on the soap if it was better for the story.
Jamie stated that he would sacrifice returning to EastEnders again just so “we can have a fox and a rat rummaging through the bins as my final clip.” He would do that for the soap he said in reference to the rat and fox monologue he said to Lola. Jamie had joined the cast way back in 2006, and has pretty much grown up with the soap. And quite honestly, no one is ready to watch him leave just yet! What do you say? Tell us in the comments.
