EastEnders star Scott Maslen reveals Jack Branning Christmas death after Stacey Slater kiss
Jack Branning and Stacey Slater embarked on a night of passion after growing closer in recent weeks, but the EastEnders lothario may live to regret his wandering eye this Christmas
Jack Branning has given into temptation with Stacey Slater, but it may have sealed his fate this Christmas.
This week in EastEnders, Jack and Stacey betrayed Denise Fox by enjoying a night of passion after weeks of chemistry building up between the pair. BBC soap fans will know Jack has now joined the list of suspected Christmas Day victims as it’s only a matter of time before Denise finds out the truth.
Speaking about his fling with Stacey, Jack star Scott Maslen said: “There’s genuinely got to be some feelings there because you don’t do things like that without their being feelings. All roads point towards this as well, so there’s been a lot of tension, a lot of stress, a lot of contributing factors that have led to this point and miscommunications.
“Reading between the lines and thinking something is something when it isn’t, and it gets to the point where the you-know-what hits the fan. Is it expected? Is it something that was going to happen in Jack’s eyes? Definitely not, but that’s EastEnders.”

Hinting that Jack could face a tragic Christmas, he continued: “He could well be [the victim]. All the journeys of everyone involved in this story go all different ways.
“That’s what’s exciting. What you expect characters to be, they break their character traits. There’s things going on where you go ‘hang on a minute what’s going on here?’ and ‘why are they behaving like that?’ You’re going to see a lot of characters that you think you know and recognise, do things that you don’t. The complexities of the storyline brings out traits in the characters that aren’t common to the audience. They’re going to see people going to new places.”
EastEnders fans have been left divided over Jack and Stacey’s fling as one tweeted: “Not gonna lie, I absolutely LOVE Stacey and Jack together…. the chemistry is so real!!!! #eastenders #3rdbranning,” and someone else shared: “I don’t even watch eastenders properly anymore but Stacey collecting Branning men like infinity stones is my favourite thing ever #EastEnders.”
Another added: “I dont care im so glad jack and stacey kissed #EastEnders,” (sic) while a fourth disagreed: “I get they want to ramp up the drama because of The Six but I hate this sorry why can’t they just reunite Stacey with Martin ffs #EastEnders.”
