This article contains spoilers from EastEnders: The Six – Revealed, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.

A new spin off episode of EastEnders has left fans on the edge of their seats ahead of the Christmas Day murder, while ruling out a huge fan theory in the process.

During the new show, The Six – Revealed, former EastEnders star Joe Swash sat down with The Six to discuss what could lead each character to kill, and who may meet their maker on the big day.

Stacey Slater, Suki Panesar, Linda Carter, Sharon Watts, Denise Fox and Kathy Beale are all in the frame, and actresses Lacey Turner, Balvinder Sopal, Kellie Bright, Letitia Dean, Diane Parish and Gillian Taylforth all had plenty to say for themselves.

At the beginning of the show, Joe revealed that the murderer had recently discovered that they are set to be the killer, after months of the secret being kept tightly under wraps.

The women were up in arms over the fact that someone among them had kept quiet, with Diane Parish quipping that they would be kicked out of their WhatsApp group as soon as they found out who it was.

They didn’t have to wait long before the killer was unmasked, as Joe asked the stars if anyone wanted to confess.

It was then that a crew member stepped in, announcing that this was now a closed set. In TV terms, this means that only the people who are absolutely essential to the filming of a scene should be present in the room.

This could only mean one thing – the killer was about to be revealed.

As Joe instructed The Six to stand up, it was clear they were all eager to learn who the killer would be, though at least one of them was putting on a very good performance.

As the iconic duff duffs played out into the room, the cameras cut to black and Joe told the killer to step forward, and it was clear The Six were shocked by their identity.

But who was it?

Unfortunately, we have to wait until Christmas day to find out, but we can throw around a couple of guesses.

During the episode, each of The Six were asked who they thought the murderer was, with an overwhelming number of them pointing the finger at Suki Panesar.

So, do their screams of shock prove that she isn’t responsible, or are they squeals of delight at guessing correctly?

We have listened closely to this moment several times, and have managed to pick out Lacey, Kellie and Diane’s screams, which makes us wonder if it is time to rule out Stacey, Linda and Denise as potential killers, given how shocked they sound.

But could this be a red herring? Could it be a scream of relief at not having to keep the secret anymore?

One theory that this has seemed to rule out is the idea that there is a seventh killer. It seems as though it is definitely one of The Six that step forward, as opposed to someone else entering the room.

But, how many of The Six have stepped forward? Could they all kill in some way?

With only two weeks to go until Christmas Day, we will soon know the answer, and be able to see their reactions in another special episode set to air on Christmas Day at 10.45pm on BBC Three.

The clock is ticking…
