The most recent return of Dean Wick to EastEnders, has raised many eyebrows. Especially from those that know his long and brutal history in Walford. He claims to have returned to town to stay close to his daughter, who is currently hospitalized. Dean’s arrival has not just triggered the viewers, but also ruffled feathers for many Walford residents. Especially, once the news of his business partnership with Cindy and Ian spread through the town.
But what is so evil about Dean that no one really wants him there on EastEnders? Actor Matt Di Angelo revealed in a recent media interaction that let alone others, Dean himself does not want to be in Walford. He is there only for his daughter. Jade is suffering from a cystic fibrosis and needs a transplant. Hence, he needs to be as close as possible, just in case a transplant option comes through. Matt admits that there are repercussions to his return and he knows it.
However, despite that, he needs to be there because come what may, he has to support his daughter on EastEnders. Dean has been on the BBC One soap, on and off, since 2006. Which means he has a long and messy history in Walford. However, the worst of it is connected to Linda. Thus, it comes as no surprise that the two of them have been constantly facing off with each other, ever since his arrival. In a recent episode, Dean accused Linda of writing “rapist” on the window of his and the Beale’s new venture.
Dean and Linda’s Twisted History on EastEnders
While long term viewers of EastEnders are well versed with their history, here is a little rundown for the unversed! Back in 2014, when Mick and Linda moved in, Dean starting obsessing over. Completely unaware of the fact that her husband Mick is actually his brother. He relentlessly pursued her and tried to form physical relations with her. However, when she vehemently opposed him, he raped her in the Pub’s kitchen. Later, Dean’s then girlfriend – Stacey felt Linda’s trauma and encouraged her to tell Mick the truth.
Back to current time, when Dean accused Linda of slander, George intervened and both men got into a conflict on EastEnders. Eventually, a strike by George made Dean fall down the stairs, resulting in a trip to the hospital. He is now threatening them all to go to the police against George and Linda. However, here comes a big twist. Dean has made an offer to Linda. He tells her that he will let George be if she tells everyone that she lied about him raping her.
Dean wants her to say that she lied because she was scared that Mick will find out that she slept with Dean willingly. Initially Linda agreed to the deal on EastEnders. However, quickly takes her words back. Unfortunately, it turns out that Dean has recorded her saying that she lied. What will happen now?
