Five shocking BBC EastEnders theories: unexpected Christmas killer, surprise victim and baby bombshell

All bets are off as Christmas is round the corner and viewers speculate appearances may be misleading in the upcoming murder mystery.

SIX of Walford’s most beloved matriarchs are thrown into turmoil this week as they are set up for another gruelling storyline.

EastEnders viewers are expecting some last twists and turns this week before the long-awaited Christmas murder takes place.

1. Two favourites join the Six

Soap bosses are gearing for another eventful Christmas this year after teasing a shocking whodunnit with a series of trailers and a grisly flashforward.

BBC One viewers have been patiently waiting for ten months to finally figure out who will be killed and how the Six will be covering everything up.

However, as ducks are all being lined up ahead of the murder mystery, some fans have started to wonder if two other characters could be joining Suki Panesar (played by Balvinder Sopal), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) unexpectedly.

Coming up, Sharon gets ready for her upcoming wedding with Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), completely unaware he is keeping a massive secret from her about Albie’s kidnapping ordeal.

But Sharon, as viewers will remember, has a secret of her own regarding her son’s true paternity.

In scenes due to air, she decides it’s time to push Phil as far as she can away from Albie by allowing Keanu to be legally recognised as the young boy’s father.

The pair head to The Vic to celebrate finally putting Keanu’s name on Albie’s birth certificate – a victory for the hunk who has also been trying to be as involved as he could in the boy’s life.

With only a handful of days before her big wedding day, Sharon later collects her dream wedding dress with her pal Linda Carter.

But once back in the Square, Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) accidentally sends the dress flying into the road and Sharon is left devastated.

In The Vic, Sharon then reasons that her dress being damaged must be a sign for her to cancel the wedding.

Yet after some encouraging words from Linda, and a new dress from Kathy Beale, Sharon decides to forge ahead.

Linda is aware that Albie’s biological father is none other than Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and in recent scenes of the London-based program, another character learned the truth – Phil’s wife, Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace).

Kat overheard Sharon coming clean to Linda in The Vic in the midst of her hen do and soap fans have since suggested that the owner of Kat’s Cabs could be the surprise seventh female who will end up being revealed as the real killer this Christmas.

Could she kill Keanu in a scuffle around Albie?

Could she even strike her husband Phil after figuring out he also cheated on her with Emma Harding shortly before their wedding?

This remains to be seen, however, one viewer threw another name into the mix alongside Kat.

“I’m still convinced that Kat might be the 7th member of The Six on Xmas Day. Following Sharon’s threat she might turn against Phil after discovering he played away with Emma. Bernie Taylor & Kat know 2 different secrets linking to Keanu as well so either could expose him”, they commented on X.

Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) was recently devastated by the sudden exit of her mother Karen Taylor who was exposed for her own involvement in Albie’s kidnapping ordeal.

Could she betray her brother Keanu as a result and join in on the murder mystery?

2. Unexpected Christmas killer

Another connection has been made by fans following recent instalments of the long-running program.

According to them, Jade Green (Elizabeth Green) could be the one to kill off her own father Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) hearing him being branded a “sexual predator” by Keanu Taylor.

However, another surprising name was added to the list of potential killer for this Christmas as Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) was seen getting closer to Dean.

While many were shocked to see her turn her back on Linda Carter, as Gina mentioned she believed Dean over the pub landlady, others have grown hopeful she could be playing a devious game to expose the rapist.

“I’m hoping Gina is ‘believing’ Dean so she can get close to have him admit he did do it. That’s my hope anyway”, one viewer wrote.

Another echoed: “I’m really hoping Gina is telling Dean she believes him so she can trick and punish him. I wouldn’t be surprised if Gina turned out to be the killer on Christmas Day. She’s got it in her for sure.”

Yet a third soap watcher shared another thought: “Having a guess at Mick will be coming back and kill Dean.”

Speaking of which…

3. Surprise victim

Could Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) be the Christmas murder victim?

EastEnders viewers have come up with the theory following recent trips to Albert Square, despite Mick having seemingly vanished at sea on Christmas Day in 2022.

Mick was presumed dead as he had failed to reappear and his wallet was found on a beach, hinting he could have met a tragic fate.

But could his return be another twist soap bosses have been trying to keep under wraps to surprise fans?

“I am telling you all the dead body on Christmas Day will be Mick. DONT ASK ME HOW IM TELLING YOU!”, one watcher commented.

According to this theory, Mick could return to Walford after a year in an attempt to save Linda from Dean.

However, Suki Panesar actress Balvinder Sopal added on to the theory by sharing another potential name as the Christmas murder victim.

Could Adam Woodyatt’s Ian Beale finally meet his end?

“Letitia Dean said something really interesting and true, she said every man is an obvious choice depending on who the woman in question is”, Balvinder said according to Metro.co.uk.

“So for Suki, the obvious choice would be Ravi and Nish. I don’t know who else could have potentially crossed her, I mean she has had beef with Ian before”, she added.

Several other characters have tried to kill of the stalwart in the past and these include Sharon Watts.

Meanwhile, his mother Kathy Beale has had to put up with many of his antics throughout the decades – could it be enough for her to want her own son dead?

4. Pregnancy twist

Viewers of the long-running show were shocked when Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) gave into temptation and slept with Stacey Slater, thus becoming the third Branning man after Max and Bradley she has been drawn to romantically.

While Stacey is a free agent, Jack is married to Denise Fox, which has led fans to think the hairstylist could get revenge on her beau for his affair by killing him off in a jealous rage.

However, could things get even more complicated down the line as Stacey finds out she’s carrying Jack’s baby?

“If Stacey gonna sleep with Jack, I hope she uses protection cause that man got super sperm”, one viewer joked on X.

But we wouldn’t put it past soap bosses to throw a baby into the storyline as the new year begins.

5. The Six prevent another murder?

For the past ten months, viewers have been led to believe the Six will be responsible for the upcoming Christmas murder.

However, multiple soap watchers have suggested they could have it all wrong.

What if the Six were simple witnesses to another crime taking place in Walford?

Could their involvement in the new storyline be hiding something more sinister to do with Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) and his son Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara).

Both men have conspired to get rid of Suki’s lover Eve Unwin (Heather Peace).

But when he was told to strike and kill Eve, Ravi decide to let her off the hook and encouraged her to leave Walford behind for good for her own safety.

Some viewers expect a second body upstairs in The Vic to be found on Christmas – could it be Ravi?

Could Nish find out Ravi has failed him and retaliate in a violent manner?

“What if Nish finds out that Ravi didn’t kill Eve, flies into a rage and kills him”, one viewer theorised on Reddit.

“The women try defending/stopping him and also kill Nish in the process?”

How will it all play out?

EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
