EastEnders fans were left gobsmacked last year when Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) slept with Emma Harding (Patsy Kensit) just days before his wedding to Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace), but the truth is finally set to come out in explosive scenes.

Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) has been desperately trying to get her feet back under the Mitchell table by slowly worming her way back into Phil’s good books.

However, when Sam learns that recently deceased Aunt Sal has left her and her brothers’ £100,000, it becomes clear that she is still out in the cold when Phil refuses to hand over her share.

Now, Sam has always been a schemer, and when a jealous Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) reveals Phil’s huge cheating secret, she instantly knows what to do with the information.

Armed with the knowledge of Phil and Emma’s one night stand, Sam heads to Peggy’s where she blackmail’s Phil for her share of the inheritance.

However, Phil is a tough nut to crack, but Sam won’t be deterred, and soon he caves to her demands.

Meanwhile, Kat confronts Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) after witnessing him conspiring with Phil across the Square, but Ben is quick to cover.

When Kat heads to the Vic for her and Phil’s joint birthday karaoke party, the couple sit down for a heart to heart over recent events, but their peace is soon disrupted as Sam approaches the microphone.

Having already broken Phil down for the money, Sam announces his infidelity in front of the whole pub, leaving Kat reeling.

Will Kat believe her scorned sister-in-law, or has Phil gotten away with it yet again?

The following day, Sam faces contempt for her actions, and heads to No.27 for moral support from son Ricky Mitchell (Frankie Day), who interrupts an argument between her and Phil.

While Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) orders Sam to leave, Kat heads to the Queen Vic, determined to drink herself into oblivion as rumours of Phil’s betrayal circle the Square.
