EastEnders spoilers follow for Thursday’s (December 14) episode which is now available to stream on BBC iPlayer.

Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) have succumbed to temptation, with the pair sharing a passionate kiss before proceeding to take things further.

The two have been dancing around the evident chemistry between them for weeks after Jack proved to be something of a knight in shining armour for Stacey during her stalking ordeal at the hands of Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis).

Thursday’s offering of the BBC One soap saw the connection between the two more apparent than ever, with Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) picking up on it.

Things, however, took a harrowing turn soon afterwards, with Theo sending Stacey a Christmas card which left her on edge, worried that the stalker might’ve had something to do with Eve Unwin’s (Heather Peace) vanishing.

With the police unable to take any further action, Stacey was left deflated and thus left a strongly-worded message for Theo, threatening him if he’s laid a finger on Eve.

A subsequent incident saw Stacey left terrified when the door of No. 32 was on the latch, but Jack came to her rescue and assured her that there was no-one inside, revealing that Theo is far away in Scotland.

Stacey was therefore forced to tell Jack that she threatened Theo, which resulted in a heated argument, with Stacey biting back with some harsh words.

After a while, she regretted what she said and headed to the detective’s home, where she apologised.

One thing led to another and the pair started to kiss.

Fans have speculated that an affair would ensue between the two characters for quite some time. The question is: will Denise Fox (Diane Parish) find out? What’s more, will this liaison tie into the murder storyline at Christmas?

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One. Stream episodes first from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
