EastEnders: Another Shocking Return Rising On Walford’s Horizon
Today, we are adding another name to the list of possible returns on EastEnders. As we have mentioned earlier, 2023 has been the year of many comebacks. But the BBC One soap is not closing the door on the returnees just yet. We know that Lauren and Penny Branning are already on their way back. With the return stories already revealed. But there is one more character who might make a surprise comeback, well before the Branning girls!
We are talking about Max Branning! Regular viewers will remember that actor Jake Wood used to play Max on EastEnders. He exited the soap in 2021. However, at the time of exit he told the media that he is grateful that the makers have left the door open for Max’s return. And now, it looks like that might just happen a whisker short of Christmas.
And just by mentioning “Christmas” we know we have given away the context of this conversation! Ever since EastEnders dropped the Flash Forward teaser earlier in Feb, everyone has been trying to speculate who dies! Many names surfaced all through the year. In fact, Max’s brother – Jack Branning, happens to be in the front running too! But what has Max got to do with it, you may ask? Well, here’s the deal!
We know a Branning-centric drama storyline is about to roll out soon on EastEnders. Jack has always walked in the light – a good policeman and all. So, wouldn’t it make sense to bring back the evil brother for a good contrast? Moreover, Jack has just started a clandestine affair with Stacey. We can totally picture Max turning red with rage if he catches Jack and Stacey together. That could call for a fight between the men.
It ends with either Stacey or Denise smashing Max’s head quite fatally on EastEnders in an attempt to save Jack. This would also tie well with the pictures that surfaced featuring Lauren at a funeral. However, there is also a possibility that the woman smashing Max’s head ends up being Linda. Maybe Max will come back to take away Annie! Kellie Bright did say in the EastEnders special episode that Linda would kill for her kids!
Interestingly, if Max does die on Christmas, he would be the second Branning brother to do so on the BBC One soap! What do you think about this possibility? Tell us know in the comments.
