EastEnders Christmas spoilers: Heartbreak for Ian and Elaine as sparks fly for Cindy and George

Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) and Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) could be set to have their hearts broken in EastEnders as George Knight (Colin Salmon) and Cindy Beale’s (Michelle Collins) feelings for each other resurface again.

We know of couse that Cindy and George were once in a happy relationship.

When Cindy returned to Walford earlier this year, she confirmed to George that she was living undercover as Rose Knight when they were together.

This left George, Anna (Molly Rainford) and Gina (Francesca Henry) with the huge task of getting to know the real Cindy Beale – not Rose.

While this has caused some problems between George and Cindy, it’s been clear on a number of occasions that they still have feelings for each other – which is shown again in upcoming episodes.

On Christmas Day, Anna and Gina head over to the Beale household for lunch. As the afternoon gets underway, Cindy learns that George is on his own in the pub busy preparing for Keanu (Danny Walters) and Sharon’s (Letitia Dean) wedding reception.

She secretly heads there to invite George over for a drink – but the pair share a charged moment together.

Later, Elaine and Ian become jealous as Cindy and George take a drip down memory lane while at Number 45.

Sensing Elaine’s upset, George thinks on his feet and lies that he’s booked her a romantic trip away.

As Elaine and George head off on their Christmas holiday, could his feelings for Cindy become a problem as 2024 begins?
