BBC EastEnders fans ‘rumble’ Keanu Taylor’s downfall after Albie blunder

EastEnders viewers are convinced they've rumbled Keanu Taylor's downfall after things took an explosive turn on Thursday night's episode

EastEnders fans are convinced they’ve rumbled Keanu Taylor’s downfall after his and his mother Karen Taylor’s plan continued to go terribly wrong.

On Wednesday, the duo put their plan into action while Sharon Watts remained unaware that partner Keanu was actually using her, getting payback for her limiting contact between him and his son after she planned to move to Abu Dhabi. Keanu is trying to steal everything she has including Albie, teaming up with his mother Karen.

However, after stealing Albie’s passport and heading to the airport with his son, Keanu had a change of heart when the youngster kept crying and calling for his mum. Yet it was too late to return Albie as Sharon realised he was missing from the party he was supposed to attend and his passport was gone.

A panicked Sharon called the police, suspecting Keanu had fled the country with him. Realising the police were involved, Keanu handed Albie to Karen and tried to return his son’s passport but was caught by Sharon as she confronted him. Feeling panicked, Keanu lied and pretended that Albie had been kidnapped from the park when he turned his back for an ice cream.

On Thursday, the search for Albie continued as Keanu told Karen to take Albie to her sister Kandice’s and hide him there. Meanwhile, Keanu pointed out to Sharon that Dorian issued a threat to her and Albie, hinting he could have the youngster, to which Sharon told the police.

Later, Sharon and Keanu were comforting each other when suddenly a ransom note was pushed through the door, demanding £50,000 for Albie’s safe return. It was soon revealed that Keanu was behind the stunt and his mother Karen tore him a strip, berating him for his huge mistake as they could both go down for kidnap, as well as extortion.

Viewers were quick to point out that Keanu and Karen would have been spotted on CCTV or by witnesses while Keanu’s handwriting on the note would be recognisable, therefore leading to their downfall.

Taking to Twitter, now X, one person joked: “#EastEnders Is Albert Square the only place in London that doesn’t have CCTV?”, a different account said: “You telling me there’s no CCTV in Walford? #eastenders”, another pointed out: “How has nobody seen Karen with Albie? #EastEnders” while a different fan added: “Surely they could very easily see that it’s Keanus handwriting on the ransom note!”
