The murder mystery was teased earlier this year in a flashforward scene aired on BBC One and involved a mystery man found dead on Christmas Day.

Fans of the London-based drama have been eager to find out the killer’s identity and who their victim is and the mystery was finally cleared up.

And once the shocking crime takes place, the Six only have one question in mind – how will they get away with it?

Coming up, the group of women desperately try to deal with the fallout of what happened on Christmas day.

But will they ever be able to dodge repercussions?

Elsewhere, Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) makes to go back to The Vic to collect some overnight belongings.

However, George Knight (Colin Salmon) convinces her otherwise as they unknowingly avoid the chaos that is unfolding inside.

Viewers will recall that Elaine and Ian Bale (Adam Woodyatt) became jealous when they spotted Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) and George taking a trip down memory lane together at No.45.

Sensing Elaine was upset, George thought on his feet and lied about booking a romantic trip away in a hotel.

Will he have to come clean to Elaine as the chemistry with Cindy still lingers?

Soap fans have theorised that George may embark on an affair with Cindy in upcoming scenes of the long-running show.

While this remains to be seen, George and Elaine may also have to be involved in the aftermath of the Christmas Day murder.

This is mostly due to their proximity to Linda Carter who has become one of the Six.

but can Linda and the rest of the group thrust George and Elaine?

Later on, the nightmare continues for the Six – what’s ahead for the group?

In other scenes, the residents of Walford try to come to terms with recent events.

But one Walford resident overhears something she shouldn’t and can’t resist spreading the gossip far and wide.

Will the Six ever be able to cover up their crime?

Could one of them crack under pressure?

EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One.
