EastEnders’ George Knight to be drawn back to Cindy in Christmas scenes

A trip down memory lane awaits...

EastEnders spoilers follow.

George Knight will be drawn back to Cindy Beale during EastEnders’ Christmas episodes.

The former couple have been at loggerheads ever since Cindy returned to Walford, with George uneasy at the prospect of daughters Gina and Anna speaking with their mother.

He mellowed in recent weeks, allowing the pair to get closer to Cindy, with next week’s scenes on Christmas Day seeing the young duo attend festive celebrations at the Beale household.

George, meanwhile, is at the Vic making preparations for Keanu and Sharon’s wedding reception, but gets a surprise as Cindy rocks up and invites him round to her house for a drink.

As the family converse at the table, George and Cindy take a trip down memory lane as they reminisce over their past marriage, with current partners Elaine and Ian seemingly jealous at their growing bond.

Sensing that Elaine is uneasy, George tells a porky as he says that he has booked a romantic trip for the pair and a night at a hotel; will his lie be exposed or will he act quick to keep up the ruse?…

Elsewhere on the show, it will be an emotional time for Whitney Dean fans, with Shona McGarty set to leave the soap after 15 years in the role. The actor recently spoke about her upcoming exit, revealing she was prepared for the emotional final scenes.

“It’s going to be the end of an era, or an earring, as the EastEnders saying goes,” she said. “I’ve loved my time in Walford, but with the character of Whitney, bless her, she’s had some awful things happen to her, and I think she needs a break.”

EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
