EastEnders spoilers follow for Thursday’s (December 28) episode which is now available to stream on BBC iPlayer.

Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) has ventured too close to the truth, with Thursday’s offering of the BBC One soap revealing that he not only saw Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) at the cafe on Christmas Day but also Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Denise Fox (Diane Parish).

To complicate matters further, the latter two were carrying a tarpaulin when he spotted them!

As fans will know, the aforementioned women assisted in covering up the murder of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters), who was killed by Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) in a bid to save Sharon.

Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), who assisted in the cover-up, has had to face difficult questions ever since from ex-husband Rocky, who was drunk and wandering about the Square on the evening of the crime.

Earlier this week, Rocky revealed that he remembered Sharon in her wedding dress, entering the cafe on the night in question, which is padlocked, with only a small number of people knowing the combination.

Kathy desperately tried to throw him off the scent and sought advice from the fellow matriarchs involved in the cover up.

Everyone was quick to suggest that Kathy get back with Rocky to throw him off the scent and give him something else to think about and, despite her reservations, Kathy agreed to do so.

Rocky, however, smelled a rat and a mention of the missing tarpaulin jogged his memory, with subsequent scenes seeing him confront Kathy with his suspicions, revealing that he recalled Stacey and Denise running across the Square with a tarpaulin in tow.

Horrified, Kathy once again summoned the Six, where she revealed the latest development.

Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) took charge and was quick to suggest that Kathy shop Rocky to the police for the arson of the cafe, leaving Kathy conflicted.

Will she do so?

It’s already been confirmed that Rocky is set to leave the show, with Brian Conley leaving after 2 years, so will this prove to be the way in which he goes? Will Kathy report Rocky to the police?

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
