EastEnders spoilers for next week: Jay drug horror and Sharon’s exit ‘sealed’

The drama continues in next week's EastEnders as one resident finds themselves in danger, another looks set to develop a heartbreaking addiction and once icon looks set to leave

EastEnders fans could be saying goodbye to a Walford icon next week as well as watching two beloved characters put their lives at risk.

Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) continues to struggle with his grief after losing the love of his life Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold). But, as his relationship with sex worker Nadine (Jazzy Phoenix) develops, the undertaker turns to other means of coping.

Meanwhile, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) is thrown when she receives a lucrative job offer abroad and begins to question whether her future lies in Walford. Elsewhere, fears for Davinder ‘Nugget’ Gulati’s (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) safety are heightened when his mobile is found by the canal. Here’s a look at the key storylines unfolding next week on the BBC soap…

Jay drug horror

Next week, Jay wakes up at Nadine’s and is horrified to find a bag of ketamine on her bedside table. He confronts her but she reveals it helps her cope and could help him too. Back at home, Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) is annoyed that Jay has been out all night again.

Away from Ben, Callum Highway (Tony Clay) confronts him about Nadine, but Jay insists he just goes there to sleep. The police officer tracks down Nadine and warns her to stay away from Jay, telling her about Lola’s death.

After Ben scolds Jay for not being there for Lexi, Jay prepares a special meal for his step-daughter, but he later turns to Nadine and scores ketamine from her. Later in the week, Callum catches Jay with drugs and despite his pleas insists he’s telling Ben. The Mitchell bad boy continues to worry about Jay and thinks he needs to see a counsellor, but Jay refuses to listen and instead plans to see Nadine again. Will Ben and Callum be able to get through to Jay before it’s too late?

Sharon exit sealed

Sharon has a big decision to make next week when boxing promoter Dorian (Luke J I Smith) tells her there’s a job for her in Abu Dhabi and she shouldn’t waste any time thinking about what’s holding her back. Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) isn’t please to see Dorian give Sharon flowers and takes Albie out for the day without telling her.

The Walford icon is furious when she discovers Keanu and Albie are missing, but they arrive back in time before Sharon has had the chance to call the police. After their row, Keanu apologises to Sharon but she demands they need a third-party when discussing Albie’s childcare arrangements.

Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) can see her son is suffering after meeting with Sharon and her solicitor, but thinks up a plan following a nasty confrontation with the Walford stalwart. Later in the week, Sharon confides in Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) that she still loves Keany but isn’t sure if he feels the same. Will Keanu listen to his mum’s plan or follow his heart?

Death fears for Nugget

In a heartbreaking update, the police find Nugget’s mobile by the canal and tell Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) they will have to dredge the water for clues. Meanwhile, Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) phones Nugget and begs him to let Ravi know he’s alive.

Ravi returns from another night of searching and receives a text from Nugget, saying he’s safe, but the police fear this could be a hoax. Later in the week, Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) hosts a vigil for Nugget with all of his friends in attendance.

Nugget’s father is skeptical but agrees to go when Suki insists it could bring him home. Will Nugget realise how much his father misses him and return to Walford?
