EastEnders’ Johnny Carter actor Ted Reilly looks almost unrecognisable 5yrs on – as new actor takes the role
ONE OF the actors who has played Johnny Carter in EastEnders over the years looks almost unrecognisable as a new cast member steps up to the plate.
Ted Reilly had the role of the gay solicitor son of Mick and Linda Carter five years ago.
When he appeared on the show, the actor had his hair closely cropped.
He also was clean-shaven, showing off his sharp jawline.
Now the 32-year-old looks completely different, with a mop of curly hair that almost reaches his chin.
Ted has also grown out a moustache and the beginnings of a beard.
Since leaving EastEnders, he has made a debut as a queer lad at school in a short film called Birthday Boy.
Grantchester actor Charlie Suff has recently been revealed as the third actor to take over the role of Johnny Carter.
The character hasn’t been seen in Walford since 2018, but is set to make a shock return after the disappearance of his dad and mum’s troubles.
Charlie shared: “I’m so delighted to be joining such an iconic programme – EastEnders was always on at my house when I was growing up.
“Johnny is a complex character who has been through so much, which I can’t wait to explore.
“I’ve found EastEnders to be the most kind and loving space to work in, and I already feel like one of the family.”
