BBC EastEnders’ Dean Wicks Christmas death ‘revealed’: Cruel Linda twist and bloodbath

EastEnders has dropped some major hints in recent weeks that Dean Wicks will die at Christmas on the BBC soap, with Linda Carter or someone else tipped to kill him

EastEnders viewers are sure Dean Wicks could be the male character who dies on Christmas Day.

While details of the death remain under wraps, fans of the soap have known for months that a mystery male character will die in the big episode this month. The crime takes place at The Queen Vic, and clues in episodes over the past year, and in the special flashforward scene that aired in February, have hinted at what goes down.

Kathy Beale, Suki Panesar, Denise Fox, Linda Carter, Stacey Slater and Sharon Watts are the suspects at the scene of the crime, with one of them set to be the killer. We have no idea who dies, but now the BBC soap has confirmed which seven names are at risk of being killed off.

These characters are Phil Mitchell, Keanu Taylor, Ravi Gulati, Dean, Nish Panesar, Rocky Cotton and Jack Branning. But recent clues may well have teased Dean will be the one to die…

Death threats

There’s been numerous death references surrounding Dean in recent weeks, and in the latest episode there was more. In fact, he received two death threats, just a day after battle lines were drawn with Keanu.

Linda warned Dean she would kill him if he ever came near her children again, moments before he left her devastated with another cruel plan against her. This action led to George Knight threatening to kill Dean, telling him to leave while he still could. With all the death threats, could his gruesome fate be sealed?

Linda’s motive

There’s a strong motive for one of The Six wanting Dean dead. He has ties to a few of the characters including Denise, Stacey and of course Linda, who he raped on the show in 2014. Dean got away with his crime and Linda always feared his return – only for him to come back weeks ago.

Ahead of his return though his fate may have been sealed. A comment by Kathy in February saw her vow to protect Linda from Dean if he ever came back – so will that moment arise on Christmas Day?

Dean has not exactly stopped himself from becoming public enemy number one recently. He’s continued to taunt Linda, not leaving her alone and also trying to set her up by making her give a fake confession.

He recorded Linda saying he had not raped her, which was a lie. She only said he didn’t assault her because he was blackmailing her. Dean was threatening to have George arrested over a recent showdown that left him injured, and the only way he said he’d drop the charges was if she ‘admitted’ he did not rape her.

This backfired though after he aired the recording in the pub hoping to convince everyone he was innocent, only for no one to believe him. In recent scenes we’ve seen Dean threaten people, spark feuds and target Linda and the Knights – so what are the chances someone will snap this Christmas and kill him?

Official suspect

The most obvious clue that Dean may die is that he’s been teased as an official victim along with six other male characters. All seven of the men feature in new promo images, amid fans being convinced a second death could occur.

After a trailer hinted Linda would be scrubbing blood off of the kitchen floor upstairs, and Dean was pictured by the door leading to the upstairs of the venue, could it mean a showdown is on the cards for the villain?
